RTV900 Transmission Rebuild - Including Charge Pump Replacement

Hi All,
I thought I'd share my experience and eventual fix of my RTV900. There was a lot of detail that I couldn't find on the internet such as how do you remove the assist motor, and how do you change the charge pump.

I have a fair size YouTube channel where I repair stuff (mainly electronics down to component level) but I also do the occasional mechanical repair.
I hadn't intended on doing a video on the RTV900 but a few of my subscribers asked if I could do some more mechanical type repairs, so hopefully this is of use to someone in the same situation.

The video is split into 2 parts, the first part includes changing the charge pump, charge relief valve, rear driveshaft, rear bearings, and the 3 brass plates, hoses, filters, oil (which made little difference in my case), and testing the pressures.

The second part is disassembling the transmission again, inspecting the servo, and swash plate piston, replacing the thrust bearings, pumps, motors, three brass plates (again) and assist motor swash plate, testing the pressures again and finally a test drive.
I try to cover a fair bit of detail as I do in my other videos.

Part1

Part 2

Hope this is useful to someone.

Best wishes
Mick

You learn to feather the throttle pedal, so you don't eat the dash. The X series is not quite as severe, but you learn to drive which ever one you have. Someone makes a kit that allows you coast or the sensation is similar to freewheeling a belt drive UTV. I had one briefly in my RTV 900 but took it out because in order to stop you have to use the brakes. The brakes are expensive to replace so I took the valve out and learned to feather the go pedal.
