SNOW PLOWS manual vs hydraulic

I am starting to shop for a snow plow for the X1100. I've cleaned the driveway with a large tractor with both bucket and rear mounted snowblower. Both need to be constantly adjusted to fit the terrain, but that's basically due to the length of the whole thing.

Am I going to feel that same need to adjust the blade up and down? Then I would want hydraulic but if it pretty much floats then manual would work. I've never used anything this small for plowing so need opinions. I have about 2 and a half miles of rolling land driveway. Most is surfaced with millings, some is gravel, but there are a couple of cattleguards too.

Whether the snow blade is manually or hydraulic operation, it pushes snow in the 'float' position. The blade has skids or 'shoes' to prevent it from digging in so you lower the blade and just givver'. I have a Blizzard brand on mine. Blizzard, Boss, Curtis, etc all build quality units. The Kubota branded blade is not built by Kubota but from what I've heard it is a good unit. V-plow is an option you might consider..No matter what you choose I highly recommentd hydraulic lift/lower and angling......but regardless....it will not move the snow that that beast your picture does.

Thanks Bob,

Good information. The beast is overkill on anything under two foot and forget clearing the smaller areas around a garage or house with it. The force of that snowblower will put windows out!!! But it's great for piling snow on the other side of a fence. I have a large walk behind snowblower but I have to also clear at my Dad's house a mile away.

Why v plow vs straight? I have to make two or more passes anyway.

My goal is to have a boss v-plow this winter for snow plowing, they seem like the one I want to have. In my opinion they are high priced, but I guess you pay for what you get.
