spring missing

I'm getting about 20 ton of manure on Saturday for the garden. Need to get the tiller on the tractor tomorrow. I'm taking the sand out of the kids sandbox (they've outgrown it) and taking it over to a friends so we can build some horseshoe pits. Once built, we'll be playing weekly. Both our boys are in Scouts so we'll drop them off then go back to his place for an hour or so to throw some shoes.

We got potatoes and peas planted today. Garden soil as just right. Is to be 70 degrees through Saturday. Sunday high in the 30's. I hope that spring will jump ont from behind that corner.

Hey,
Want some good fertilizer, find someone who has chickens or quail.

There droppings .....

That is the best fertilizer, but to much will burn. But you talk about a
garden. And it last for years and years.

Birds aren't big around here so it would be hard to find. Lots of cattle and horses. A friend of mine (where I get my beef) always has extra manure so he's going to bring over about 6 dump truck loads tomorrow.

Ah!...Love the aroma of freshly disturbed manure...Takes me back to manure spreading days on the family farm.

Had a herd of turkeys 'fertilizin' my back yard all winter..:shitHitsFan:the lawn should be nice and green once spring arrives and the frost goes out of the ground.

Finally some sunshine here. Looks like it will be in the 70's this weekend. Hope to be able to work on my food plots soon.

Beginning to see the top of the wood pile finally.Hopefully some warmer temps and some rain ill be able to get to it soon.

Worked on food plots today. Beautiful day to do work .
Limed most of the plots on one side of the road . Other side was done last week. Most of the plots are taken care of as far as throwing lime.

Now, the easy part was set for today.

Burned down a old house on the hunting property. Took every bit of
26 minutes from the time we threw a match on the old couch inside.
Till it hit the ground. No gas, no fluid, just one match and air.

Two explosions went off in the old place during the process. Something
came blowing out of the top of the roof, flying upward. This happened
when it still had a roof just minutes into the buring.

Ripped a hole about ten feet in diameter.

Nothing but ashes now. Happy it's gone. Was nothing but a snake den.

The first humming bird scout showed up today and hung around at the feeder that we have had out for perhaps a week. FINALLY.........SPRING IS HERE.......In the past several years they show up on the first of April so a week or more late is indicative of what we have been going through........Oh well, time to begin cooking the gallons of nectar that they go through by fighting over the 5 or 6 feeders we fill up a couple of times a day. We have them around our back deck and under the eaves of the gazeebo. This is all up at tree level at the back of the house, so it's kinda cool watching them sit and "hawk" the feeders from just a few feet away on tree twigs........God bless.....Dennis
