Temp Guage Drawing

TWO GUNS

This is a ruff drawing howthe temp gauge looks duringnormaloperation of myRTV 900. The Gauge on the left shows what the temp looks like right before the cooling fan kicks in, the Gauge on the right, is what it falls back to during the fan cycling.

It does look like it's going into the red, but then the fan kicks in, and instantly drops back .

Does all of yours look and act like this, We all would like to know, tell us how your temps run !!!!

My new RTV has never gone half way up on my gauge but it has only been 50 degrees or less outside temperature up here in Gig Harbor, Washington. I will let you know when I hit the hot temperature in the Montana summers. I have never noticed my fan kicking in on mine. I will listen for it next time I take it out.

MIne acted just like yours during the cooler weather. Never really getting past half way !!! And I never heard my fan kick in untilspring / summer time showed up. But when the hot * hot * hot months showed up, the guage showed like the picture, and the fan cycling ..... As soon as the needle goes like the picture, the fan kickes in, and instantly the needle will fall ~~~~ took some getting used to at first, but now, I don't worry since I found out that all the newer units acts like this !!!!!

My 900 also runs like your picture and seems rise If I lug it too much with the tracks on. Also wonder if it is normal to smoke when you hit the slowdown stage going up a hill?

Mine runs on 1/4 most of the time. A few times after 2-3 hours on the hills it will push 1/2 on the gauge.
