" TICKING" SOUND in RTV

TWO GUNS

Senior Member
Had this RTV since Feb~2007, everytime the key is turned on, WITHOUT starting it, after about three seconds, there is a ticking sound every few seconds. What in the hell is it, I cannot find where the sound is coming from. It is driving me crazy. Is this normal ?[*-)]

LOL! It's your hour meter ticking away like clockwork.

I wish Kubota had an engine activated hour meter rather than a key activated meter. But it's good for them since they sell more filters, labor, etc.

Thanks doggman,

Did not have a clue where it was coming from . Really got on my nerves today installing the golight & checking switchs, wires, etc, . I feel better now !!!

Bingo! We have a winner.

There's probably not an RTV owner that wasn't puzzled by this early on in their ownership experience. Since there is no indicator light I thought it was a glow plug relay timer at first, like ona tractor...

That nasty little hour meter will kill your battery in about a day if you accidentaly nudge the key to the on position as you exit. DOH!

I doubt it's the hour meter that killed the battery.

Hey, maybe that's a design "enhancement" to make the hour meter click so you know if you've left you key on since you can hear it. Yea, that's it. [:P]
