I asked in another thread, but then thought of another question so I'll put them both here.

For those running a Boss plow....are they hard on the factory battery? Should I get a battery maintainer before winter to keep on it overnight?

And, I see many of you here have many years and miles of use. Mine won't be exposed to road salt, but should I still do any kind of rust proofing? I did spray some Fluid Film inside my door panels.

I use a battery tender if I plan on storing the 1100C for any length of time. I use a electric over hydraulic Meyer Homeplow and never had any issues with the battery.
As for the rust proofing, salt will kill them. If you use it in a salt free area you do not need to be as concerned but rust proofing will pay off in the long run.

I've had the Boss V-Plow for 6 years and never have had a problem with the factory battery. I've never had it on a salted road and no rust anywhere on plow or RTV. I have a X900 now (since 2015) and it has 10,000+ on it and 1600 hours. Have ordered a X1100C with the Boss V-Plow as well, Looking forward to heat and defrost!

I just got an email from my Boss plow dealer. My plow is ordered! It was supposed to be end of July, but Boss wanted their orders early.

I can't wait either BiffNH. I had an F550 with a 10 foot Boss plow on it and I hated using it. So I sold it and bought the RTV. I will be a lot nicer, better visibility and I'll be able to plow right up beside everything like I can with my tractor and blower.
