Two Questions

First: on a 2006 RTV900 can anybody tell me where the wires for the headlight switch come out of the wiring harness? The eBay auction indicated no headlights and there is an empty hole in the dashboard for a switch. There were no bulbs in the light assembleys but a socket was laying right there. I put LED bulbs in the sockets and they installed in the assemblys but they do not burn automatically. The only two wires I see under the dash , when I connect them the horn beeps. I thought I might be able to find where they have been cut off.
Getting around to work on this thing lately has been a problem, I was diagnosed with "Degenerative Disk Disease" about ten years ago and have gotten the injections about five times. Two weeks ago they did not help. Getting under the dash is fun.

Second: After being down in my back and a couple of rare Texas snowstorms, I went out to play with it and it would not start, would not make a sound I could hear. The charge light and gloplug light would come on but not a sound I can hear. Tried jumper cables and nothing. While talking with Bergs in Canada about the cab they suggested a neutral start switch but I see nothing under the hood. Do I have a Neutral Start Switch and where is it?
I got a friend to come help and while I held down the hydraulic lever he was able to open the bed. I think he wiggled the wires at the starter and now it starts. I was able to load it on my trailer to go get the tires changed. DiscountTireDirect , com had the cheapest 6 ply rated I could find. I put all 4 directional 25x10x12 because I am in sand. 4 for $330 here at my door from the brown truck.

Hope the cab shows up in the next few days.

Can't address right now, the headlight situation...........Sometimes though, it is best to just find a switch to fit in the slot that is there and run you a new circuit from the battery itself. I really didn't know that LED bulbs would just fit right into the sockets????.......PERHAPS SOMEONE ELSE CAN ADVISE if they work right out of the box or if one has to do something extra........At any rate, you know where the wires for them are under the dash??????????...............You have a horn BUTTON directly under the steering wheel, so that should help you figure that part out..........

The neutral switch is right in the middle of the transmission. It's like a plug that screws into the case of the transmission itself. It has a plunger in there that goes bad after awhile..........DO NOT LOOSE THE SHIMS/WASHERS as I did and then one has to figure out how many shims to loose to make it work when you get the new one.........Actually, I wired around it a few years ago, meaning to fix it right and never have.........Just get a plug/or splice and short across just above the terminal..........Easy to use a spare piece of wire to test out what to do...............
Some folks get onto me about the fact that I haven't fixed it yet, but even my granddaughter knows not to start it with it in gear cause it is gonna take off........she is 7 and smart.........guess if I had a dumb one I might fix it...........
Anyway, one of those mandated safety issues that some lawyer said should be there.........God bless........Dennis

I THINK Spud has a schematic posted of the electrical on the 900 ,in the last year. You might could look at his posts and find it. Just click on his name and then choose from the drop down menu to view his posts.
You could also visit Messick's Equipment site and look at the schematic there. They will email you the information you choose. Very nice feature ! Just go to the rtv and choose electrical and poof ! it is in your email ! Good luck, collie

I hate this laptop, I had a reply nearly ready and touched part of the mouse area and it dissappeared. Maybe my back will get better and I can see under the dash for extra wires.

The wires for the headlights are yellow and brown. Yellow is the source, brown is the load. I do not know if they have a stripe or not.
