use of RTV in N.Y.State roads

I checked with a local Kubota dealer in Montana and he said that as long as you title and register the RTV 900 like any other ATV (treated the same) you can use them on the roads and Hiways as long as you have rear view mirror and use hand or turn signals. Not to suggest that NY is the same but call your local dealer they can tell you.

I'll accept the name of " Slacker ", but when the wish book is found, ( the order book lost in the beginning of all this )and all the other accessories are installed, I'll expect the name to be upgraded !!!

We contacted th NY state police and because the top speed of the RTV does not exceed 25 mph it is considered a utility vehicle. All you need is a slow moving orange triangle and you are legal. We run many secondary and primary roads on our rides and have never had any problems.
I'd still check with your local PD for their interpretation. I have never heard of a law in NY that says that a Utility Vehicle has rights on the road with the possible exception of farming activities (that have to be proved if the officer requests).

Do check with your local, at least for S&G's , that may at least start a rapport. I had checked with ours as well, we started a good rapport with our chief. He said it was okay, but had not checked with county or state yet, but did contact Ohio State BMV, they couldn't give something defined. Like some of the other suggestions, even though you are going a short distance, stay cool, treat it like a tractor, be courteous to others. Other important thing I didn't see, carry your insurance coverage for it. Even if it is questionable, and LEO might need to fill a quota, it may help to detour a slip.
