What is this electrical connection (pig tail) for?
I have a short electrical connection unattached above the engine/tranny area. Any idea what this could be used for?
Speedometer?

Glad that was answered. I'm been beating my brain out trying to figure this one out .... Just about the time I think I got some of this stuff calibrated in my mind, " Wham * Bam * Boom "Something comes up where I have to get my boots back on, walk out to the shop, and take a look atit or I will never go to sleep that night ~~~~~~~~[*-)]

Hmmm, It's been a few years since I installed my speedo but I don't recall having to plug in anything at the engine compartment. I thought there was a pigtail behind the dash, and that was it. Has anyone installed a speedo lately? Was there a pigtail in the engine compartment to connect?

What color are the wires? If not the speedo, could it be for:
Rear blinkers/flashers
Hyd. Lever switch (turf model)

OK It sounds like it is actually the safety switch connector on the main shift arm, which ensures safe starting. In other words, I think it basically prevents you from being able to start the unit in anything but neutral. Can you start your RTV in H-M-L-R? Also, the WSM says it is located on the top of the transmission case.
