WHOW!! Turbo

Two months ago I bought a n 1100. I had a 900 a few years ago and got rid of it for a Ranger xp. Still have the ranger and will most like keep it. I like that 50 plus mph. Anyway, I loaded up the 1100 with all the kubota options including their v plow, aftermarket lift kit, wheels ,tires ect, When it was delivered and I drove it for the first time I was VERY DISAPPOINTED! What a gutless pig!! I sent it to Lashley's kubota in eastern ohio to have a turbo installed. WHAT A DIFFERENCE! Now the 1100 runs like you would expect it to. You can actually use high range. They installed a SWAG turbo. IT may be a little expensive but I am well into the mid to upper 20k range at this point anyway. The turbo was by far the best money option i have spent on the 1100.

Cool! Can you tell us more? I'm less then 2 hours from that dealer. Any idea how much HP added? Cost?

The store in Quaker city installed it. A little pricey (3500.00) But worth it!! No idea on HP and did not increase top speed. It just isn't the DOG it was before the turbo. I also had a coast valve installed.

mine runs like a dream. Personally, I love mine just the way it is.

If I want to go faster, I will get in my Jeep, Truck, or Honda Rubicon Wheeler.

I think the 3500.00 I paid was a little on the high side but I did not want to attempt it on my own. My concern was I did not want to try to drill my oil pan myself to hook up the return line from the turbo. SWAG makes a very nice unit. You loose the muffler so it also improves the sound.

I don't think you'll find any for the gas 500 unit, that's more a diesel thing. If you do a google search for the servo adjustment on your RTV 500 you will be good to go....also if you have a digital timing light with a tach you can increase your WOT rpm to get more power. From the dealer mine was pegged at 3650 rpm...after I adjusted the WOT rpm to 4050 and adjusted the servo my 500 had been an animal.

After the adjustments it will not run out of power before traction...mine will take off spinning the tires now....wouldn't do that before the adjustments.

I don’t have the turbo on my’05 900, but I do have the modifications that have been highly recommended on other threads. Remove spark arrestor, add coast valve, add high air intake, and the machine runs noticeably stronger. It’ll climb hills that are difficult climb on foot & I’ve never reached WOT while plowing snow (Curtis blade). I’ve been curious about the turbo’s, but I’m more interested to find the terrain or job that would require it!

Unfortunately it seems there is a wide range of ‘factory settings’ for these machines and a lack of knowledge at most dealers on how to ‘tweak’ them.

WAY to many posts that describe, give pictures, instructions for fabrication, or where to purchase these very worthwhile acessory............

This kit moves the air cleaner to a mount at the top rear of the cab ... gets it outta the clouds of dust and crud kicked up beneath your RTV. Not a bad thing to have ... not exactly the Ark of the Covenant, either.
