windsheild

Yes and No. Yes ... I bought a plexiglass windshield from an online manufacturer/vendor. After I got fed up with that windshield, I bought one over the counter from a Kubota dealership not far away.

My wallet flinches every time it hears the word "windshield."

TwoGuns, you must have another new sherrif in town, having to replace the name on car doors again! Good to here you're still around.

Speaking of windshields, if you purchased another RTV would you pay the added cost for another Kubota windshield?

Philip

oldhat, I too like the photo, but am very happy it is a photo. Not used to looking down that end of a barrel.

No Windshield would not have stopped what happened today. Was driving close to a downed oak and one the branches caught the rollbar edge, snapped off and literally exploded into the cab. Pieces every where and ripped my hat off. Glasses saved my eyes but a face full of old dried oak wasn't fun. Will live but watch out of this kind of stuff.

Why do folks list the Kubota Windshield metal frame without the glass on Ebay? Are they breaking the glass? If so, is replacement glass not available? Just wondering what's up since I've got windshield on my mind.

I am glad you survived intact. That could have been really bad.... I will be more careful after hearing of your experience. bordercollie

I have been slapped along side the head a few times on the Bota and the tractor. Had a big briar slap my ear and I bled like a stuck hog. My blood thinners make it look worse than it is. Sure scared the Amish kid that was working for me. One reason a pair of loppers is usually along.

Vintoka: Been there. Done that. A pine sapling smashed into my windshield ... caught it in the lower driver's side corner of the glass while the windshield was in the extended-out position. Windshield exploded like a gunshot--a billion pieces of glass mostly still hanging in the plastic inner-layer of the windshield. Not a scratch on me, for which I am thankful. Sorry you lost your windshield.

Pepr: My Kubota windshield frame is not on Ebay ... maybe I should list it. I know nothing about the after-market glass business world. Can glass companies commonly make custom replacement windshields for our Kubota frames? Has anyone here had experience with that?

Any good glass shop should be able to make a replacement for you. I have had them done on heavy equipment before. Lot cheaper than Cat or Case.

I figured i was not alone in getting hit in the cab by brush and debris. Still get a big kick out of those who mount their extra lights on top of the canopy around here. Within a week one or both are usually gone. I can live with the occasional bush whacking i get out on the trail. Its the continual parking brake up the shorts during summer that is some what tiresome
