I have a ZD21 mower with 270 hours on it I was mowing up close to a metal clothesline post on the left side of the mower and the edge of the deck touched the post,I heard something pop on the right side I turned and looked and my Temperature gauge face was missing and the housing was on fire I was able to get the fire out and noticed no other issues so I continued mowing for another 30 minutes or so .When I went to load the mower on the trailer and pushed the parking break and went to open the control arms the mower cut off without touching the ignition and won't start back.I have checked the battery it has 12.8 volts and all the fuses check ok including the 40 amp in front of the starter,I have pulled the starter off and hooked it to a battery charger and it works fine I have started unhooking safety switches but haven't put jumpers in place.any suggestions?

Not sure where to tell you to head other than what you are doing. What about a solenoid for the starter? Or the ignition switch itself? Good luck and keep us posted.
