Wow, I let a milestone slip by this week. I opened the new cooking site and took my eye off the ball here.

We surpassed 10,000 posts. Right now we are at:

Awesome. We are coming up on one year old and we are already over 10k. I'm thrilled. Thank you all for making it happen. I appreciate all your posts and banter on here. More than one new member has said they joined because you've showed that we are the "Friendly" Tractor Forum. I like that. Cheers all!!!!!   cause just one beer ain't enough. :D

I'm in on that Doc one is definitely not enough.:beer: Dougster interupted me so I'll finis this. Congrats Doc and to all that make this site possible. I do believe that there is a really good core group of people over here. You get some really good info and an awuful lot of ribbing to go along with it.

:yum:
Ed, between you and Dougster you have 1/5 of the total forum posts :D

I'm looking forward to the 500 member milestone, definately by the end of March......

Congratulations Doc. It's nice to have a place to discuss all things tractor and not get jumped on all the time

What I want to know is who is Whoo Hooo and how did they find out about the 10k posts?

You may have noticed that embarrassment over that dubious fact has led me to start combining as many replies as possible into a single post... particularly in the most active threads. I believe I'm up to a record 5 or 6 replies within a single post in a few recent cases... but more like 2 or 3 average. :o This may not be helping Doc's overall numbers, but at least it makes me feel that I'm conserving forum space and appearing to be less of a bandwidth hog than I apparently am. ;)

I certainly didn't set out to be NTT's most prolific poster. I'll admit that sometimes I do have a lot to say. But most of the time, I'm just defending myself against the slings and arrows of those who are clearly envious of my special status as NTT's one and only OLD MEMBER. :D

Hey Dougster, post away, helps keep the place exciting :D Not to mention its something to put a smile on my face after a sucky day. ;)

Well, thanks for the vote of confidence Mith... but I am concerned about the quality of posts far more than the mere quantity of posts. I think we all have an obligation to keep this website the very best tractor forum around... and I mean that very seriously. That doesn't mean that every post needs to present some deep & profound technical or ownership issue complete with pictures, etc... but it does mean trying to achieve a good balance in topics, especially between the off-topic chatter and what some have termed "high value" tractor-related content. I know that I go out of my way to contribute to the latter as much as possible to balance out the chatter for which I am often at least partly responsible. I have even vowed to stay out of new Intro threads for a while to see if it helps them from veering off-topic and going astray.
I'm looking forward to the 500 member milestone, definitely by the end of March......
Even more important than the overall membership number, I love to watch the daily activity grow. I wish there was an easy way to track the number of active members visiting and reading or posting each day. In my view, that is the true mark of a successful and healthy forum! :thumb:

I dont think you can have a good forum without chatter, but as you say, the tractor stuff has to be there too :D
More tractor talk would be good, but the time of year doesnt really lend itself to much seat time. Once Spring has sprung I'll bet the tractor sections will get much busier.

On the stats, we've been getting about 60-80 members logging in every day, its been pretty consistent since January.
