RTV1140 Dump bed problem..

Hello.. have a RTV x1140 with about 127 hours on it. My dump bed stopped working.. Fluid level is good, all connections are seated correctly. I can hear it engage but no movement on the bed. Dealer has a 4 week wait and I am fairly sure this is something simple. Any suggestions? Also shouldn't you be able to manually raise the bed when you float it? Can't get the bed to move at all.. Any help would be appreciated.

Hmm Yep, you should be able to raise it manually. Sounds like the bed might be in a bind.
Do you have the rear seat open or are you using the full bed with rear seat folded in? I know there is a hinge there ....I'm just wondering if that hinge could have bound on something. Unlikely but otherwise I'm stumped.

shouldn't be air. if you can hear the engine pull down a little bit when you use the lever then i would suspect a blockage of some sort or maybe the bed is latched down? have you tried the lever in both directions?

Tell us you DID undo the latches

Honestly I have used this every week for 3 years and i have never seen a latch that holds down the bed. After your message I have been over it several times (as it seems like something is holding the bed to the frame) and I see nothing. What latch are you referring too? Thanks

Yep maybe 1000 times.. Does anyone know if you should be able to manually raise the bed? I thought if you put it in float mode you could but i can't get mine to move. Thanks

I am in 4 seater mode but have tried it with both. i removed the bolts from the two hinges in the rear and tried to see if i could see anything holding it down and had no luck...

grasping at straws but I wonder if you put it in float mode and wedge a hydraulic jack in there and try to jack it up with that just to free it a bit in case it's frozen / locked to something. Or at this point I'd be tempted to take it to the dealer. I'm afraid of damage if you try my jack it up idea. Very strange issue.

Never sat in nor operated an 1140.
Out of curiosity, does the bed even tilt when in 4 seater mode? If not, what is on the machine that tells the system that it can or cannot invoke tilt functions? Just wondering if there's a mechanism that's not working or set properly that's telling it not to tilt because the rear seat "seems" to still be down.

go to the rear of the machine and disconnect the hoses going to the bed lift cyl. take the ends off of the hoses leading to the cyl and try to manual lift the bed. if it is still stuck after this then you have something mechanically hung up in the cylinder or the bed. if the bed can be lifted then you have a problem in one of the quick disconnects or valve. my money goes to the quick disconnects. be prepared for oil spill

I can answer that. Yep. It lifts in either 4 seat or 2 seat mode. Bed is simply bigger in two seat mode. Really an impressive piece of engineering. I would own another 1140 if I had not got hooked on the closed cab of the x1100c.
