Snow up There ?

TWO GUNS

Senior Member
Members up north, can you give us a comparision on the how much snow you got this year compared to last year. And maybe the year before that ......

Please, go into details.

Reason being, you know us corn fed members down here get most of your snow melt coming down the Mississippi River.
And you also know the mess we were in last year. Just trying to see what we are up against this year.

Any and all information is appreciated !!!

.......... always here,
jamie

yea that snow is a big deal down here when it melts it fills the spillway and we get nice crawfish and at a good price but if ya'll get to much snow melt then the river rises way to high and floods us out. sorta a good thing and a bad thing .

Yes Peanut,
BUT, as much as I love crawfish, I can live without them ............

But, I don't want to live WITHOUT my home. That Mississippi River
don't have a heart or soul..... It will take you, and everything around it >>>>>

Im in Northern Michigan and we were close to 65 inches light on snow this year. You may have an easy thaw this season.

130 Inches in the UP Michigan (Houghton), I think last year we only had 178 inches, the year before that was 150
Moose

Saw a show the other day that said NWS predicts no flooding anywhere this year along the river. Lack of snow means early planting for a lot of folks. I was spreading lime yesterday and barely left tire prints. Lots of plowing going on already. Hope to seed clover and some early ensilage this coming week.

Eastern Kansas ; No snow this year. The last 3 years we had more snow than normal. Do not know the amount.

Vermont had almost no snow at my elevation this year. That plow i got got used about twice more to. Entertain the dog than deal with snow.

yea it sounds like it's gonna be a good year .the thing i'm worried about is the huricanes . with out any cold weather this year the gulf waters never cooled down and thats not gonna be a good thing come storm season. not to mention when them storms come in from the gulf and head north they can drop alot of rain and make that snow melt look like a drop of water in the bucket. keep us posted on the river twoguns. i know your just a stones throw away from it.

Nice lookin' Jeep twoguns...I have however come to the conclusion that you never drive any of your vehicles. Any pics of your Jeep, truck or RTV never show any indication of that gumbo mud I keep hearing about down there.

As far as winter goes (went), my only comment from eastern Ontario is "What winter?"

SE Wisconsin seems to have been experiencing a very low precipitation winter. One of the lowest I can recall. We are located on the crest of the ridge where water flows to the east into lake Michigan and where it starts its long trip west to the Mississippi. We are also having record high temps. I think the word to describe the spring may be "DRY."

Oh, they all get muddy. But they get a very good bath when they come
in. Not later, as soon as they come in. And everything gets Protectant
Sprayed on them...
Even on hunts, even if we come in after dark, after the deer / hogs get cleaned . The machines get cleaned up, all mud & blood is gone., like they are going back on the showroom floor.
Even if it's going back out in the morning. That is the only way to have it !!!!

NOW THE JEEP, THAT IS ANOTHER STORY !!!!

That is my "baby" !!!
1980 ALL Original .... Will not even drive it in the rain !!!!
This machine was kept in a climate control carport all it's life.
When you open the doors, you will swear nobodys ever even sat in the
machine. It's something to see !!!!

That is one fine looking jeep. Look's brand new. My 1946 CJ 2A has been renewed 2 times and is due again. Have had it longer than my kids.

It is brand new, NEW OLD STOCK ....
You know, a few years ago, 1979, when they shut down military bases down, folks could purchase military surplus. And I bought a BRAND NEW, in the crate,
1958 military jeep, had a water fording kit on it. Bought it for 400$, cost me 2400$ to get it shipped to U.S.
Got it to New Orleans, LA, picked it up and brought it home. Un-crated the jeep, and run it about three years, 2100 miles. During a bad divorce, judge made us sell EVERYTHING, which included two other jeeps, New Renegade & New Golden Eagle, and split $$$ down the middle.
Sold it to a local farmer, which run it about one month before he died.
His daughter still has that jeep locked up in a old barn. Will not get shed of it for nothing, for she said her father cherished that jeep. Been in there all these years. Wish I had it back !!!! She will not sell ....

There has hardly been a winter in Minnesota. We maybe had only 14" of snow all winter. Usually we get around 50-60" around here. I live about 3 miles from the Mississippi river and the other day when I drove by it looked to be down about 2-3' below normal level. Today our high temp was in the upper sixties, we are used to highs in the thirties and lows in the teens this time of year. I guess Al Gore was right about global warming!
