4x4 Linkage froze

Hey guys I am new to this site as I just purchased a used Kubota Rvt 900. I am not new to kubotas as I bought a L3130 brand new. With that being said I bought my 900 at quite a attractive price. The 4x4 does not work and the lights not work. Im not worried about the lights as I will fix that. The problem is it will not go into 4x4x4. The actucal shaft that goes into the tranny seems to be stuck or froze. I cannot get it to go in. It goes in gear and everything fine. Is this a comon problem and is there anything I should look for. I do not believe the cable is froze up.

Hi Treeeman. Welcome to Net Tractor Talk.
Like you I just bought a used 06 RTV900. And much like you I bought a new Grand L3010 brand new right before the 3130 came out.

I have read that the 4x4 linkage can be bent if forced. I wonder if that is the issue. If so you might need a dealer to straighten that out. Good luck with it. Hope it does not cost much to fix.

Try letting it roll in N real slow on and just use steady pressure and see if it engages. Some have good luck turning the steering wheel side to side to shift it in and out.

woohoo! I got it fixed! I soaked it with pb blaster. Then tried moving slowly and its going right in and out. Now to fix the light problem and a few ujoints. Thanks guys for the help!

doc, have you had any problems with your tractor?
Nope, nary a one. It has been a workhorse for me. I'm still thrilled with it. Love the hydrostat tranny. Still getting used to the hydro on the RTV900, not exactly the same.

Ive got 400 hours on mine and the hubs are leaking oil, the loader valve had something break just out of warranty and some hydro cylinders on the loader are leaking, which is prolly my fault because Ive liftd more than I should. I dont care for the hst because it takes to mych power. Id rather have the shuttle shift.

The lights could be a blown fuse. If that is the case look at the tailights and work your way forward looking for a pinched or torn wire.

ya I kinda figured it would be a blown fuse. I havent had to time to mess with it anymore. I am not familiar with these machines. Where is the fuse block located?

thanks. Ill check it out today. Here are a few pics since everyone ikes pics!

Sounds like an outstanding deal to me.   Newer than the 06 I got and about 1/2 the price. :pat: I've been shopping around for quite a while and have never seen one go that low that ran. One without an engine sold for 2500. So I'd say not to shabby at all. Way to go. :thumb:

thats good to hear! lol. I was pretty sure it was a great deal so I couldne pass it up. He thought it was an 06 but wasnt sure. Im guessing its an 07 by the 7 after the "A" KRTV900a710nnnnn
