It's been a weird day Jay. I'll PM you and tell you all about it tomorrow. I've got to get to bed now 'cause I'm gonna have to get up real early for one last clean-up run. Those gosh-darned municipal plow guys just don't know when to quit!!! They keep blocking my completed driveways no...
I like this one best... and not because of the size of my own gun collection. I like it because I think it's true! :thumb:
But you better expand it to include a certain aircraft-repairin', large tractor-drivin' lady from the Lone Star state lest she decides to do it for ya. ;)
Dougster...
Jay is absolutely correct. What the law says and what the cops might actually say or do in any given town (especially urban vs. suburban vs. rural) are miles apart. This is why I always check with the local cops... in person and ahead of time... in any town in which I will be working where my...
I assure you that your experience in that regard is not unique to your government. I run into PLENTY of the same here in the People's Republic of Taxachusetts USA!!! :noevil:
Oh the stories I could tell you!!!
Dougster :starbucks:
Ouch!!! Yet another series of vicious unprovoked attacks on the wisdom, judgement and sanity of NTT's one and only OLD MEMBER. Fact is that I did grab a chicken salad sandwich with my Starbucks :starbucks: on two separate occasions when I couldn't take the gruel even one more...
Well, I need snow! :letitsnow: Real plowable snow! :letitsnow: The kind that get the "one-offs" calling nonstop and waving green cash in their hands!!! ;)
The kind that gets Jay going and the old Edster crying!!! :yum:
Dougster :starbucks:
Be very thankful that you can register a CUT for road use at all. Here in Taxachusetts, USA, that is a virtual impossibility unless you own a bona fide farm or logging operation meeting a strict state criteria. I know of one person who pulled it off without owning a farm, but he kinda sorta...
Without the old Edster around anymore to buy me dinner on his unlimited expense account, I AM stuck eating nothing but gruel... :( ...at least until Friday night's expected billable, plowable snowfall. :thumb: Then it will be FAT CITY for at least the rest of this month! ;)
Dougster :starbucks:
And now this!!!
Starbucks :starbucks: cutting 600 jobs
February 21, 2008
SEATTLE—Starbucks Corp. has laid off 220 employees who worked in field operations and at the coffee retailer's headquarters in Seattle. It will leave about 380 open jobs unfilled.
Chairman and Chief Executive Howard...
Well, the truth is that I've seen more SMV signs on the backs of tractors being trailered than anywhere else. My guess is that it would only be an issue if it actually caused someone to misjudge a moving vehicle's speed while in the act of passing said vehicle and thereby caused an...
Now you aficionados of classic® and antique® tractors will have to explain this one to the poor old Dougster: Is that some sort of tractor implement??? Or is that Santa Claus's very own trap drum set mounted to his sled??? :yum: :yum: :yum:
Dougster :starbucks:
It does vary from state-to-state. They are apparently not a requirement in Taxachusetts because unregistered tractors aren't allowed to drive on public streets anyway. On the other hand, I believe it is a requirement of neighboring New York State (among plenty of others) if memory serves me...
Ain't that the truth! You don't want to know how much I had to pay today in vehicle excise taxes alone.
Boy, have you got that right. Just call my little corner of this God-forsaken state "Brazilachusetts"! :o
I hear ya Mark. That would be an intelligent thing to do. I spent a lot...
