900rtv winch mounting

If you can't find a home for the bracket, I'd like to have it ... at least the lower part that mounts the fairlead.
he spoke for this one but if you need one and nobody else in here has one i can make you one just let me know.i'll need the bolt pattern off your bumper to make it or you can just drill the hole when you get it.
Tommy,

Don't you have the bolt pattern? Just get it off the one you have before you stick it in the mail.

you mean i gotta cut dat nicley taped up box open ?? yea i can do dat but only cause he a member of dis here family.i'll cut it open tomorrow and make a templet

Mounted mine out front. Whole lot easier to get to when your stuck. I went with the 4000lbs, the 2000lbs didn't pull to well.

I need it.

But let's be sure we're on the same sheet of music. My Ramsey mounting kit is two pieces: a plate that bolts atop the bumper ... the winch mounts onto that plate. I don't need that.

The second piece is the one that mounts to the bottom of the top plate and to the cross-member ... it has holes in it for shackles, hooks, etc. That's the piece I need. Mine is bent badly and I can't get it straightened out enough to remount properly.

i think i know what your talking about but not really 100%sure .can you post a picture of it for me?

if it's go bolt holes that would need to br drilled it might be kinda hard to make a new one without the old one so if you want just mail me the old one and i'll fix it or make you a new one for free all you have to do is take care of the shipping. my wife says i can keep makin and fixin stuff as long as it don't come out of my pocket so as long as the shipping is covered she can't say much of nuthing right?lol

Peanut: Many thanks for your generous offer. I will follow up in coming days ... right now we're outta town visiting kids and grandkids.

no problem i ain't goin no place anytime soon .they say people with pets live longer and i have 7 dogs and 4 cats so i plan on liveing to a ripe age of 150.

they say people with pets live longer .

They also say steel fabricators with drill press' can drill cleaner holes.

They have not seen my coon-ass buddy with his alligator punching pet.
Punches holes in steel, guarantee to set up a bolt up pattern perfect, everytime.

Hey tommy, 'dem boys up there don't know how good them gators can punch holes in things, do they ? Keep up the good work partner.......

yup got me a drill press but it seems the older i get the less i get to use the thing.yea them gators will punch a hole in stuff alright.me and my brother was froggin one night and we came up on this about11' gator that just wouldn't move out the way .we nosed the pirougue up to him and as soon as the tip of the boat hit his nose he took off under the boat and pretty mush lifted it out the water.took 4 washins to get them satins out my spiderman underoos.that same gator ate my buddys full grown collie took her down and we never seen her again all we saw was a huge swell and the dog went under. the gator still lives there to this day maybe a 1/4 mile from my house .

..... we have had some bad gator problems here in the last ten years.

Just two months ago, a 13 footer run up on the edge of the bayou and grabbed my buddys dog of
eleven years. I took care of him.
.... And right after that, another a few miles down the bayou, man lost his duck dogs
of some.
It's really getting out of hand.
Been telling folks if you see gators behind your place, take 'em out. For they are fixing to become your
worst nightmare.

Them big gators didn't get big being stupid >>>>>>

We been trying to do all we can. We pop three, seven shows back up. Never seen it this bad.
They need to bring the price of the gator hides back up at lease for a year or so, so some of these folks down here will make a devoted effort to take 'em ......

And when high water shows up like it did last year, it just multiplies the problem. We had them up in town by the
Louisiana Welcome Center ....
some welcome uh ...............
Way it is now, it's really not worth the effort to go hunt them, only for sport and see who can
bang the biggest gator of the year.....

it's not the price of gator hide that is low it's the laws.you have to buy so many tags to hunt them and you have to have a lease or own the propoerty you hunt them on.now if a gator comes ito your yard or is a danger to someone you just can't shoot them you have to call the local gator guy and he will come out and catch it if it's under 10' but if it's over 10' he has to shoot it on the spot.trust me the way we eat gator meat down here if they was to change the law and alow you to legally hunt them without all the red tape there surely wouldn't be any gator problem.there's a canal that circles all the way around the swamp behind my house that we frog in.and when you hit the headlamp on the bayou you see hundreds and hundreds of them.normally they just swim next to the boat and then dive under when they come within a foot or so of it. but that big daddy in the other end of the swamp he has no fear whatsoever of humans .we took my wife froggin one night and she seen all them eyes glowing and thought that was frog eyes she never went back froggin again.lmao gators ussually are not really agressive unless you go around their next or make a nice splashing sound in the water they seem to be atracted to that slpash sound . it's a funny feeling when your riding in a pirougue that is only 2"from sinkin in the water and your surounded by hundreds of gators that can easily jump 3' or 4' out of the water.

my winch came without a fairlead or bracket, if you have one great saves me some time.. no for the fairlead..

Does everyone have one now? I finally find one on a shelf. I can send (to any existing member over 3 posts. I'm not giving away to someone that found this thread and has joined to get it.) if you pay the postage.

Here's what I have. If Tommy (Peanut) needs it as a template, I'd like to give him first-dibs and I'll pay to send it to Tommy so he can make a template. You then pay postage from Tommy to get it to you.

Include me out. That's not the part I mangled during one of my winching episodes. The plate in bczoom's photo is the base plate atop which the winch is mounted? Yes?

My winch mounting kit included two plates: the top plate, onto which the winch is mounted, and a lower plate that bolts to the RTV frame and to the winch plate. The lower plate is the one I twisted. I'll try to attach a pic in a separate post here.

Sorry it doesn't help Heatwave.

Haven't mounted a winch in years, but if I recall correctly in the pic I posted, the winch mounts to the horizontal part (many holes to accommodate different winch mfgr's) and the vertical holds the fairlead.

thats the one i just mailed to powerwagon .although it did have alot of diferent mounting holes in it for more of a universal fit.now if you wanna send me that one i could fit it up to a 2"tubing that you could pin in and take out when not needed .send it my way and i'll fix it up to plug into both front and rear if you want.oh by the way i still use that razor knife you gave me man that thing done came in handy so many times i can't even begin to count.thatnks again for sending it zoom.that was the best gift i ever had given to me that iuse on a daily basis.

Not sure why it seems everyone goes thru the same RTV winch learning curve. I started out with a #2000 and it failed miserably. Went on to a #3500 it, a little better but still a failure. Currently have a M6000 and it seems the minimum acceptable. Made the mount from northern tool 2x2 parts and added a HF detachable mount with fair lead. Need to have in cab winch control (as well as cable mount ) cause youll need to keep your foot on the brakes on heavy pulls!!! See more pics other posts.

Yup i even broke the m6000! But warn sent me the parts fur free!!

i would say for a rule of thumb when buying a winch take the weight of the utv and triple it then get a winch that can handle that weight and above. and never hold the winch button down always bump it a few seconds at a time or you will over heat the winch another thing is never powle always freespool it if you power out the cable all your doing if heating up the winch for no reason at all.
