A couple questions

Greetings. I have a Kubota L5450 that is in dire need of new rear tires. I currently have 17.5 X 24's which are industrial style tread. I don't do a lot of heavy pulling etc. but kind of thought regular ag tread would work better. The local tire guy said he can't find a 17.5 X 24 in an ag tread. Any thoughts about pros and cons of the industrial vs ag tread. The rims seem to be in good shape so I don't want to switch them just to accommodate an ag tread. Has anyone found a source of tires, on line, that they have been happy with?

I would like to add a second remote hydraulic outlet to this tractor too. What kind of a project is it to do that?

Thanks for your comments. Indianaguy

Ag tread will make your tractor taller, which would give you a little more clearence. I suspect Ag tread would also last longer. When I bought my L3010 I had to pay extra to get R4's / Industrial's.
I would expect shipping would quickly eat up any savings, but I have not had to buy tractor tires ever.
Another member just did a project post about adding rear hydrolics. That might help you plan out your project.

When I bought my M7040 I tried both tires. In a place where the ag would go with no problem in 2wd, the industrial tires just sat on top and spun. No traction at all..I could have spun for 5 minutes & not dug a hole. I'm sure if you stay on pavement the industrial would do better than the ag, but if you will be needing ANY ground traction my vote would be ag tires.
Sorry, but I don't have any idea about where to find 'em tho.

The R-1 tire takes a different rim than the R-4, usually. That may be why the dealer can't find any in that size.

I would go with normal ags instead of industrial. Like was said, traction is slim with industrial ags. Our payloader has ind. ags on it, and off the concrete as soon as they slip just a tad (which is easy), it's nothing but slip.
