I started on my tall air intake. Kubota was apart to replace the rear u-joints and I am waiting on parts. So far the hardest part was the first section. Could not find any 1" by 3" OD tubing so I made some. I will keep you all informed as this project continues. Will try to post a picture and use TWO GUNS info. If this does not work I will e mail the picture to TWO GUNS.

That is looking good Oldhat. Are you replacing your rear u joints with the greasable kind? If it had the greaseless ones before, you may wish to consider adding an access hole in the area below those grease fittings closest to the wheel. Believe me I know from experience :pat: that it is almost impossible to grease those thingswithout an opening there. The new model RTV comes with the greasable fittings and have an oval hole below the joint's fitting. I can make a picture if you need it. good luck. bordercollie :doggy:

Yes I am using greaseable joints. The outer joints were good but I changed them with greaseable joints anyway. The splines inside the boot were very rusty. They do not want to use grease or oil because that will destroy the rubber boot I guess. They were put together dry I would say. I am going to use anti seize compound on them as that will not harm the rubber. A picture would help as where to put a access hole to grease the outer joint.

I will get that picture for you tomorrow when I have some good light Oldhat.
Mine on the '05 were also dry. I used some grease . bordercollie

A picture of the rear ujoint grease access on the 2011 RTV900. Yours may be different though. Good Luck with it. Yea, I know it's dirty- and that ain't all mud. It's been a working. ;) bordercollie

Looking great oldhat >>>>

Are you going to bring your airbox up or leave it where it is on bottom ?

If you leave it on the bottom, are you going to curve the top like a upside down " J " to prevent rain from entering. Also, keep in mind you also want to
keep out insects like dirt dobbers and such >>>>>

Finished the tall intake. Worked out well. Also changed the reciver from 1" to 2". all the recivers on other equipment are 2" .Do not need an odd ball.

Oldhat, what a swell job with the apparent SS hi-rise and the 2" receiver. Your work indicates some good experience to produce such a professional looking end product.

Yes it is stainless. I have saved all my scrap metal, and am sure glad I did. The price of stainless has went out of sight. Nothing like stainless (will not rust, bust, or turn to dust.) And you do not need to paint it. I think my next thing will be a rear screen. Do not want to through a log through the rear window when loading fire wood.

Thank You Pepr. Have been making things that I could not buy or did not like the look of for around 50 years or more. Now companys make things as cheap as possible, with questional quality. Talk about quality, I need to get ahold of Peanut and get some of his stick stopers. Those look like real quality.

That is really nice looking Oldhat! You did a fine job and you know it will last and last. :tiphat: bordercollie

Excellent work!! Wish I had skill to weld like that. 2" receivers fore and aft are really useful. Dunno what Kubota was thinking with 1". The 2" allows me to quick mount a winch up front and the rear makes the rtv a handy trailer towing/positioning vehicle. Now you can even have your own rtv privvy
