Camo Conversion

OK, finally got this bit done as well. Been working on converting my stock 900 Orange to full camo, all done by myself. Ended up doing the wrap with Mossy Oak Breakup wrap material, which took some time and patcience. Came out pretty dang good, and I am happy now with my ride well on its way to a proper hunting vehicle. Also installed some new ITP 589's which are 26x9x12 up front, and 26x12x12 rear, and on STOCK 900 wheels. This along with the lift I did at the same time, stick stoppers, custom HID light conversion, custom high rise air intake and stall mat lining the dump bed area really brought the whole package together. Still have some other things like winch, and a few others before next Fall.

WOW! That turned out great! For the camo material, how durable is it? Can it take scratches from branches or similar and hold up so you don't start seeing the orange underneath?

Yes, it is thicker than you might think, and was quite time consuming to do, but resulted good. Simple maintenance should keep it up, and as long as your not beating it bad through the woods, should last very well, as in years. I also plan to install a basket above the front hood, as well as a lexan windsheild sometime this summer which will add some more protection.

Night and day difference eh ? ! I also am thus far happy with the lift. I have steep hills around here, and no top heavy feel thus far testing her out. Also gave at least 2-3" more ground clearance up front, and some in the rear which is what I was after.

For the basket and windshield, try to do them at the same time if you can unless it's a windshield design known by the makers of the rack. I made my own windshield, then added the rack. It took awhile to figure how best to put the rack on as it attaches to the ROPS, but my windshield had the ROPS covered where the rack wanted to be mounted.

Are you making your own windshield or buying one?

Had thought about buying one, as I feel it could be a cleaner install, and your points about basket are very well taken. This is the windshield I have been looking at, as it comes with quick release knobs which leave the brackets in place while allowing the windshield to be quickly removed for highway towing which I do to get to my hunting area which is 1800 private acres.

Bota Windshield

man that thing looks nice.i bet the bed stuff you done to it must have quieted it down some.and you picked a great tire for it too.

The windshield you linked to is similar to what I built. The front rack will most likely need to mount to the lower brackets of the windshield. Here's how mine got mounted.

Peanut, you are exactly right. Installing the stall mat on the bottoms and sides made a very big diff in rattle noise which is no more. All gone, bed protected, and the gate closes with a nice fit with the gate pad snug on all 3 sides. Very happy with this mod across the board !

Thanks BC, that is very helpful, and addresses one of the questions I had lingering. Will look at this method as a solution.
