Cheap Light Mounts

I sure like that Two Guns! What material is your gray backing made of? Thanks! bordercollie

.080 Aluminum Sign Panel

Got the panel that was already was painted white. Baked on white enamel . So it is all set to paint over, no aluminum prep work.

So I went and got some Kubota grey and painted it.

Good lookin' installation you got there, Two Guns. Can you tell us a bit more about it? It looks like maybe you have some kinda liner on the underside of your roof ... is that correct? If so, what is it?

How is your grey panel secured in place?

What is the smaller control box used for?

I have a well-used, aluminum, highway dep't STOP sign somewhere around here ... I'm thinking I might be able to shape it into a good panel ... sure calls for a lotta tools and expertise I don't have.

Thanks for the pic.

The Panel = .080 Aluminum, go to any sign company, graphic company and tell them that is what you are looking for, they will have it, or can cut you a piece. Don't cost much $ .....
It is attached with the same style U-bolts the Metal Roof is installed with. Dealer gave them to me. Most dealers has bookoo of them laying in the back Kubota shops.
Yes, the underside of my OEM Kubota Roof has a foamy style liner, must help keep noise factor down, and that is just a guess, but we like it much......
Smaller Control Panel= GOLITE spotlight, we have the two controllers, one remote, one, as you see, is in the cab. After we got used to the Golite, we could do anything without after the sun goes down in the swamp. Like I said before, Mrs. Two Guns swears that the RTV looks like some kinda one-eyed Alien coming threw the swamps, sweeping back and forth, at night with the fog under it.

Very Nice Two Guns!

Two Guns, you have a great set up!!! Very professional looking too with A++ workmanship. I'll be lucky if my "creation" looks half that nice- but the pups are sworn to secrecy to never tell how bad my console looks (or they lose their riding privileges). ;) bordercollie

your " creation " will come out just fine bordercollie. Just like everything else that WE all do to our work-horses, just takes a little time.
..... for I also know, that the pups will never loose their riding privileges, we love them to much to take that away from them. ( just ask LeRoux, she get threats like that ALL the time )

And will also bet, that your console is the best of all .....
you do super work on your equipment, I do know that, along with all other members here !!!!

......... jamie

An alternate mounting method I like is using DJ O-Clamps

As pictured, the center ring pops out to give you 2" diameter (which is what the ROPS is).

The handle in the pic at 5:00 is what binds it closed. The bolt/wingnut at 7:00 is what's available for mounting things.

I use these clamps all over my ROPS to mount everything from speakers to the windshield..

Zoom, those look great. I just typed the name in you listed and saw some on ebay .I intend to order some. Many Thanks, bordercollie

The Kubota dealership I do business with has a great RTV900 on the floor ... full metal cab, glass windshield, large plexiglass rear window, Bose sound system ... lots more, including an overhead console with switches for various accessories. The console is a superb design and fit ... I'd sure like to have one.

Heatwave, the list price on the one I think you are talking about is over $700 . I found this # V4238 Overhead Console Kit for it. It is very nice looking - you are right about that. I have seen something sorta similar on ebay a time or two.with no switches, only speakers. bordercollie

PS. On that O-Clamp - What's the diameter of the ROPS on the RTV500? I don't remember if it's 2" like the 900 or smaller but do know these clamps fit that machine's ROPS as well. I gave my Dad a pile of those clamps for his 500.

Ha Two Guns, I got to thinking about that the other day ... You know me or at least how I am and I have all these tools that I am saving for hard times and their "beauty".. Well I know when I go to the great RTV riding with pups , working with my Dad, place in Heaven, the inheritors of my stuff will just be careless with my treasures- losing them and leaving them out in the rain, so I'm gonna start enjoying them! bordercollie

.... very well said bordercollie, ....very well said !!!!!

Peanuts: This may be a market niche for you. Do you think you could fabricate an aluminum panel that could be cleanly installed on the underside of an RTV900 roof? Needs to have room on the backside for electrical wiring runs. Tight fitting ... no rattling or jiggling around. Leave it to the purchaser to drill holes for whatever switch panel or other stuff he/she may want to install. I bet you could produce something that looks good, works well, is tough, and costs a lot less than that $728 Kubota V4238 Overhead Console Kit.
