We've all has had a fit with the RTV fuel Caps, leaking , removing , tight threads etc ....

Think I've found the solution, some of you maybe have done figured this out, for I have not, until this evening.

This " filter wrench" purchased at you local Wal-Mart..... FramFM401 >>>>> does the trick ......

WITH NO MORE STRAINING , FINGERS TURNING BLUE, trying to remove the "TRUE, KUBOTAMIRACLE FUEL CAP "

Owner can just throw a shop rag over the cap if he's scared of scracthing the cap somewhat, that is exactly what I did ..... But the damn thing works >>>>

great find twoguns i'm gonna get one for my rhino man that thing tears up my knuckles everytime i try to take the cap off. thanks for the info.

I could have sworn that this was talked about long ago. Anyway, have been using this style of wrench for a couple of years, probably 20 cap removals and then retighten and there are NO advese effects to the cap or threads. Just get it started by hand and then engage the teeth or lobes on the wrench with the lugs on the cap.........WORKS LIKE A CHARM.............Good luck........Dennis

I will have to get one of those wrenches. I had posted before about breaking the strap on my craftsman strap wrench trying to get the cap off. Since I put the new cap on with the double gasket it still turns hard but does not leak so that is an improvement.

I bought one of these last week at Wal-Mart for under $9 including tax. I saw one like it but a different brand at TSC for over $11. Works good and is now kept under the seat. Now to find (or make) a gasket for the gas cap.

Uncle Doug,

One might become lucky and go toa dealership, being many caps that has been replaced, go in and ask foran old cap that is layingaround the workshop, bet a person would find a gasket or two in the batch >>> worth a try !!!!

.... two guns

I just found out that the plastic wrench that comes with Culiigan's water filters fits the gas cap just right. It's the wrench you use on the canister to change out the fiber filters.
