Gas pedal

<P mce_keep="true">I just bought a 06 RTV 900 I am not sure how the gas pedal works but mine is sluggish and slow on the return I let off the pedal and I can not stop or shift it until the pedal returns and it returns slow I looked at the linkage everthing looks good. Can someone tell me how their unit works.</P>

<P mce_keep="true">There are a couple of points on the engine where it might need some grease. Check your owners manual, if you don't have one go to a dealer and look at his.</P>
 
I agree with others, might want to grease the fittings. Check your cables !!!! There are a few places under the hood you need to spray some lubricants, the manual will show most places. Also, if your machine has been sitting up for a little while, some cables just needed to be worked awhile...... But my guess, it just needs a little grease in the fittings, and a little lub on the cables ~~~~</P>


I will try to look tomorrow, and see what I come up with on places that should be lubed up, just remind me !!!!</P>

<P mce_keep="true">I will get a shop manual ASAP and I will grease all mentioned areas. I also noticed a (gas Spring) looks like a small steering dampener on the thottle linkage how does this work? is it supose to slow down the return or make it quick?</P>

<P mce_keep="true">Huh, I will have to look, never notice mine ~~~~ I would imagine it to keep the pedel from " slamming " back up ....</P>
