Get It While The Gettin' Is Good

Are you kidding?? You can't have a pistol in the house up there??? !!!! Heck,I put a mini pistol in my pocket when I go to some of the areas here. And when I travel I pack some "heat". I might just have to be" illegal "but at least I won't be kidnapped or dead. Bordercollie

Brian,

Your Dad will have to apply for a concealed carry permit, which could take 6 months to a year to get one. A 20 ga shotgun (auto) at a distance across the house is very effective. Load it with 3 inch mags and #4 buck.

get a nice mossberg500 like this one the spread with a 2-3/4" buckshot at 15 yards is unbelievable and nuthing is walking away.after i got this gun i tried it out i put some 3"magnums 00bucks in it big mistake for a small guy with neck and back problems but the smaller round does ok .you can find them at most sporting goods stores academy sportshas a stainless steel one i been wanting to get. it holds 7 rounds in the tube and one in the chamber.and you can get the rail to fit on the side to hold like 10 spare rounds it fits on the left side of the reciever.

das true what about dem snake tamer's day come in 20gauge to i think only thing is they not semiauto but they nice and short.

............ and then Gordon Ingram brought us the Mac-10, .45 caliber open bolt >>>> best close quarter defense there is !!!!

There are many folks in the south uses them for home defense >>>>> They are great when used for the right purpose !!!!

i had a cobra .9mm back in the 80's and some guys was threatening my bosswhere i worked so he asked me if i would trade him guns cause i had the cobra . i said what you got well he said he had this black gun and asked me to come by after work so me and the wife stopped by. man this guy comes walkin out his house with a colt ar15 i was in love needless to say we traded.i later sold the gun to my brother who then sold it at a gun show for 1200.00. but them little mac 10 type guns are nice for home defence i know mine never jammed not one time when i had it and it was a solid gun you could kill a guy just by hitting him with the gun.

another gun for home defence but i neverowned one would be a tec-9 or better called a glorified hi

capacity pistol. oh i got one how about these little toys here's my glock and my kel-tec they both use the same mags . i have 10 mags and 17 round mags and 4 30+3 mags the glock is the ultimate gun pop that thing out and you got 33 rounds if rifles are ok the keltec would be right up your allie. but then again i don't know about the detachable magazine thing up there you could get the ten round mag if they have a limit on the capacity of the mag. the carbine is really small and extra light it's pretty much a pistol it can be folded up for storage onder the endtable of a bed or for keeping under a car seat.

That's what I thought (and was afraid of...). Not sure if he's into going through the motions.

As for home defense, for me, it's going to be based on what room I'm in. Each room has its own selection. In each case, it would be secondary to my normal carry which is my Kimber Ultra Crimson Carry II. That laser on it is sweet.

man talk about a well placed cannon shot they must have loaded the basment with powder too . i noticed they had it pointing into what looked like a basment window or something.

Nice looking Kimber. I been thinking of getting Tactical Ultra 2 in 45 cal with a High Noon paddle holster. Where I live the need to carry concealed for personal protection is not high yet. We arefast approaching that point in time.

May I suggest a nice holster >>>> the Jackass Shoulder System or theMiami Classic , both made from Galco ( formally Jackass Leather Company, from back in the '70's )

Many my holsters are Galco, tuff, wear great and easy on the weapons....

And yes, I carry my Kimbers in them also !!!!

I agree that shoulder holsters are very comfortable but they take a bit of time putting them on and off. I some old shoulder injuries so this is why I am going with the quick on and off waist paddle holster.

My preferred carry position is IWB. Being left-handed also makes getting a holster a bit harder since most stores don't carry them so I don't get to try them out.

I recently picked up a KHolster. (http://www.kholster.com/products.htm). The full moon is a bit too much for the 3" barrel so he made me the Crescent with the 1911 Kydex (and obviously, left handed). I've only had it for a little bit but so far, really like it. He does have a rebate program so if anyone is considering a holster from him, let me know and I'll find the rebate code he sent me and post it. That'll get you 10% off.

Brian, Is there any truth to the mith that the moulded holsters will leave wear marks on the weapon? Right now I have a model 60 S&W that I need a newer holster for.

any holster will leave a mark after a while . just do what i do and don't store the gun in a holster i think leather is the worst for a gun it wears the blueing right off after a while plus there are natural salts in a animals hide and it will get on your gun if the gun is stored in the leather holster . as for nromal wear of them plastic looking holsters i think they are just about the same it all depends on how much the gun goes in and out of the holster the moulded plastic holsters would probably be best for storeing a gun because it has no salts in them and second it alowes the gun to breath alot better than a greular holster . i tend to get them "uncle mikes" holsters for all my guns but i only use them for trasnporting them to my shooting spot or walking through the woods or if i take a road trip then i load them in a holster other than that i keep my hand guns insmall boxs. something good for storage is cordless drill boxs i get alot of them out the dump and i never picked them up til one day i had a brain fart of why not make a gun case out of it . hey after you cut out the inside deviders with a dremmel and drop in a eggshell foam they make a nice gun case with dewalt written all over it or skil of black&decker.
