Brian, Is there any truth to the mith
that the moulded holsters will leave wear marks on the weapon? Right
now I have a model 60 S&W that I need a newer holster for.
I only have about 100 - 150 draws out of this holster. During the first 50, it was tight and you can see where some of the Kydex rubbed off on the gun. It wiped right off the gun. It was almost like eraser dust. At this time, I don't expect it to cause any more wear than any other type of holster would do.

Glad that knife is working for you Tommy. I wear its twin on my belt.

thats the best present anyone could give a preper. if you have one of them and a few boxs of blades your set. as you can see from the holder itgets worn everyday.

Man o man, you guys are into guns like I am into solar! I have an old 12 ga. Remington pump action shotgun with a short barrel and slugs just in case a bear shows up and starts hanging around, and then my old Lee Enfield for moose hunting, but that's about it. Oh yeah--my little pellet rifle for shooting squirrels who show up around the house. There is a 'no squirrels zone' that extends out about 100' from the house. I give them one warning and if they show up again, the dog gets to eat them. You should see how excited she gets when I pick up the pellet rifle!

Anyway, quite impressive arsenals! I am sure glad you are my friends! :-)

Onfoot, I am just curious as to what model your Rem pump is?

ME TOO !!!!

Two Guns ~~~~~

Well guys, you can tell how much I am into this... It is not a Remington at all. It is a Winchester 1400 Ranger which an old friend gave me some years ago. No wonder you were all wondering! :-) I get it out every now and again to fire off a couple of rounds just to make sure it works. But it really is just my 'just-in-case' bear gun. (I think my friend was more worried on my behalf about bears than I am!) Pesky bears are pretty rare (though we have lots of bears around) and my bear pepper spray is also very effective at making them reconsider any ill intentions.

And, to make matters worse, it's not a pump! It's a semi-automatic. As I said, you can tell how much I am into this! :-) Anybody wanna talk about solar power???

Dang! ...I thought I recognized that DeeWolt gun case. I checked in my tool cabinet and sure enough there were 2 in there. One contained a pistol I think with a 18 shot clip hangin' off the bottom. ('cause it says 18v on it) May be a ray gun tho, 'cause when I pull the trigger it just goes whirrrr. The other one I'm sure is a machine gun 'cause when I fire it it goes clak clak and the barrel slides back and forth. Its either shootin' blanks or I'm a bad shot 'cause when I tried to shoot the dog with it, he just looked at me with a dum look on his face.

'course since owning any kind of gun up here in the "Great White North" is 'gainst the law unless they are registered on the gun registry, I'll probably have to donate them to either some criminal, gang member or terrorist organization:)

Wonder if my ole DAISY air rifle that made smoke when you shot it would be ok to hang onto:)

I sure hope you got that Daisy Air Rifle registered via the Long Gun Registry. Not sure if we need a license to carry DeWalt drills--though I remember one time when I was not allowed to take a plug-in hammer drill with me on a flight in my carry-on. Perhaps they were afraid I would plug it in and threaten to drill a hole in the plane!

MY APOLOGIES>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

In re-reading my post I can see how it could be mis-interpreted to imply my views on firearm ownership. In particular, I did not intend to poke fun at the DeWalt cases and their ingenius and practical usage.

My purpose was to be critical in a hopefully humourous fashion of the restrictive firearm laws that your Canadian cousins find themselves living with. Up here we have the firearm registry (long gun registry) whereby every rifle, shotgun etc must be federally registered. Even a .177 pellet gun with a muzzel velocity above a certain limit.

My intention was to imply that its not a far fetch to imagine cordless drills and reciprocating saws to be next.

Of course I don't own any such items as that would be against the law ;-)

Again my apologies

Tommy, I am impressed and inspired to keep my eyes open at the land fill site! This is a brilliant example of recycling--well done!

I sure feel for you guys up in canada. gun registration is the first step to confiscation. after they take the ability to fight back oppresion will follow. Not gonna happen in my hollow for sure.

We manage somehow, Muleman2! :-) In all seriousness, I do not think we face any liklihood in Canada of the government confiscating our guns. I suspect there are many in the North would be inclined to echo your sentiments: "Not gonna happen in my hollow!" It is a nuisance (and a bureaucratic boondoggle), but in fact it is not hard to obtain rifles and shotguns--you need to pass a basic hunter safety course and fill out the application (showing you don't have a criminal record, etc.) and pay the fee and it's done. Handguns are a little more problematic unless you are criminal, in which case they are as easy as pie to obtain!

What is your preferred method of cutting gun-shaped holes out of the foam? I've thought of this myself, but haven't done any yet. I have a few cases sitting around.
