glow plugs DK45

My DK 45 is starting hard with lots of smoke.

Replaced glow plugs, and associated 70A relay. New ignition switch.

I am reading 8.4 V at the third glow plug on a cold start and it does not increase with time until the controller shuts down.

Suspecting that the pre heat controller is not functioning properly?

Anyone out there with an ohmeter and a DK 45 that can test their voltage as the glow plugs heat up, or anyone know what this may be? Thanks so much.

No help with the voltage but I have read that the DK is very sensitive to dirty connections. It would be good to check, clean, and coat with dielectric compound if you can.
