Golight Mounting Question

Yes, I did purchase the KUBOTA <FONT color=#ff1493>V4271 High Mount Cleaner ROPS Kit</FONT> ( $ 166.00 ) delivered to my house >>> ~~~~~~ Great investment, not only does it make the RTV run better, but it also keeps the filters clean for it is not behind the cab in that VACUUM AREAwhere all the dust & dirt seem to stur while you are riding around. If you have ANY dusty situations, this is a got to get item. It will also let you run in deeper water if you ever need to ~~~~ But I purchase mine mostly for it will benifit the engine better, and will not have to replace them expensive air filters all the time. The air box on the high rops kit is alot bigger and also lets the engine breath better ~~~~ I notice a increase in performance as soon as I installed mine, others has also told me the same thing .

About the GoLight, before you install it, set the light up there and see how the light beam runs at different areas on you roof. When you find the area that will let you do everything you need, front, rear, side to side >>>>>> lock it on and shine on !!!! Now you know if you put it to far back, the downward area shining forward will not be as it would be if it where on the front. You will see what I am talking about when you test it before you bolt it .....</P>

Just run you a hot wire and ground wire up to the light for a supply source BEFORE you drill any holes. Then when you find the spot, drill if you have to ~~~~</P>

I thought about mounting it up on top so that I could use it in either direction, but I was more worried about tearing it off going under a tree branch. By mounting it forward it is lower than the top and less likely to get scraped off the top (In my opinion)</P>
I am thinking about mounting the Golight in the
middle of the plastic roof but over the back ROPS, it is flat and very
solid there. Also I should be able to use the Golight and not need any
additional lights mounted on the RTV? Or would I still need halogens
in the front on top and rear bed lights?
</p>

Doug - I'd use the aforementioned approach 2-guns noted. As for whether you would need other lights, I'm going to guess the answer is going to be "yes" but once you have the GoLight installed, it'll let you know exactly what's needed and where. Inside the cab and areas directly around the RTV will not be able to be lit by the GoLight.

I don't think you can use the dash plug in on the RTV. I believe the GoLight draws more amps than the OEM socket and fuse can handle.
I am thinking about mounting the controls on the front ROPS bar, in
the center. Does this make sense? Of is there a better place such as
the front dash? Please remember the RTV will be open all year, at
this time I am not planning a windshield nor doors.
</p>

Yes, that makes sense and is what I would do. As for centered or offset to one side, comptemplate what other things may go up there. E.g. if a rear-view mirror is being installed, it may get in the way of your switch. Do a search on this forum for "crap bar" (I think that's what I called it). It's a 3/4" pipe that's mounted just below and inside of the ROPS. This bar allows me to attach all sorts of things and being 3/4" it accepts all ATV made equipment that's made to mount to handlebars (e.g. Pistol mount, spotlight...).
Two Gun did you get the XXX high air cleaner?
LOL!! It does appear that way (at least when I saw it in the photo).

Something else to consider.

Pretty much everyone has the roof but some of us have a ceiling panel mounted to the inside of the ROPS. In my case (and probably others), all the wiring is between these 2 panels. If you need to get between the panels to fix or add something, one of the panels needs to be removed. I'd recommend installing quick-connecters on whatever electrical devices are installed to the panel being removed.

Example:
On mine, if I need to get between the roof and ceiling panels, I'd remove the roof. I have 4 lights permanently mounted to the roof (all facing forward).
I took a 4-prong trailer wire harness (the flat one with green, yellow, brown and white wires) and used that between the lights and the switches.
By doing so, I can lift the roof panel off a little, reach in and unplug this connection. I can now remove the roof panel without having to disconnect wires at the switches or wherever.

Also consider the placement for the fuses to assure you have relatively easy access in the event you need to replace one.

Ok after over a year I finally purchased a Golight. I endedup with the base unit because it was removeable and used the cigarette lighter, so I did not have to do any extra wiring. With the fog lights in the front and the rear work light I mounted the light near the back which will allow me to stand in the bed and use the light for night hunting.</p>

Git 'r done!</p>

I see you have 8' doors in that building/garage. Do remember that you can no longer fit in a 6'6" standard garage door. Don't ask how I know but luckily the only light on the roof at the time was a magnetic mount strobe light so the damage was minimal.</p>

I'll respond for DougK, in Texas we can and do hunt pigs and varmints at night, with a spotlight.</p>

Per Texas Parks and Wildlife Regulations: </p>
<ul>

[*]Non-protected nongame animals and fur-bearing animals may be hunted at night with the aid of an artificial light on private property.

Louisiana just came outwith adeer harvest tagging system that is going to cause many people much troubles...</p>

First, the new tagging system , makes one carry a damn pen in the woods with him. He has to tear off the tag, some kinda Telvek plastic fabric clothmaterial, that no pen, and I mean, no pen, wants to write on.Forget theSharpie marker thing, it just smears like a person would expect this ink to do. This has to be done before you even touch your kill. Then, have to find some sort of wire or zip tie to attach to the animal. Then, a person has to call the Wildlife and Fisheries to get a number so you can log it on another piece of paper , just in case a damn game warden stops you.</p>

Now why cannot they put numbers on some sort of zip tie to begin with like the state does on the doe tags that I get for the deer managment thing.</p>

I know other states have some sort of tagging system, but are we only on that has to do the writing down numbers and calling it in to the state capital dept of wildlife and fishers ?///////////</p>

This is a bunch of bull ......</p>

I thank God that I'm on another system that I don't have to do this ALL the time. Would make a person quit hunting and enjoying the outdoors >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>></p>

well having the hunter call in and ask for the nuber is really a good thing because now they can track when /where/and how many deer are being takin. a few years ago the game warden caught some guys comin out the woods with 6 deer in thier boat he took everything and even went to their house and took their deep freezer witch was full too. they are still fighting it in court saying they had other hunters with them that went ther other way and was gonna meet up later(bull^^^%^). well anyway if they bag and tag tem at least this way they will know if you come out with one without a tag your done for no questions asked.. and as for as you (Jamie)well your just gonna have to take up some hand writing classes and learn some lteracy stuff .lmao i know we use alot of the hand motion stuff down here to get by on but them days are -a- changing now they want us to spell it out for them. i guess now we gonna have to carry a gps too so we can write down the lat/long. of where we shot the deer being they won't know who boudroux and thibodaux are so we can't really put down that we shot the deer 20 feet before it jumped the fence to go onto thibodaux's property leavin t-claudes property.</p>
