I just mounted my sprayer in my new RTV and will post pics soon, but I need help on another guys RTV. I work for this guy some, mowing and spraying pastures. He has an 04 and he asked me to look at it because it is loosing power, well we mowed today and I took the time to look at it for him, run fine and got out on the road and it would cut back, felt like maybe starving for fuel. So I keep filters in the truck for the mowers and change it out, no help, kubota mechanic said sounded like a clogged fuel or air filter, air filter looked fine, so help me out what can I try next? Oh yea, I love having me an RTV again, jump on check cows, just weaned some calves and they know when I am coming with the sweet feed. Pics soon on the sprayer. Rock

I would check the "spark atrrestor" on the exhaust system. There have been previous posts on the arrestor plugging up - remove screw at end of exhaust and pull arrestor out to clean.

Ifthe spark arrestor is removed, and it still acts weak >>When was the transmission servied ????

might want to think about a service to the tranny. And , like always, need to go back with OEM FILTERS & SUPER UDT FLUIDS ...

Hows the quality of the fuel ?

With the RTV in nutreul, and you push the pedal all the way to give maximum throttle, does it seem to reach full throttle , does it hesitate to much, push the throttle down and hold for about 20 seconds wide open, does it serge at all ?

The spark arrestor on an '04 should be attached to the end of the tailpipe with a single screw. Newer models have it located on the interior of the muffler. How many hrs are on this machine? Let us know what happens after doing the Two Guns Procedure... That will definitely tell us a lot. I wonder about the condition of the diesel in the tank .... A long shot ,but are the vents around the fuel cap possibly blocked ?Also make sure the air intake isn't blocked...critters-even wasp nests or daubers can reduce air flow by nesting at the intake area in the small almost flat box. Bordercollie

I had a similar problem with my first RTV. Changed the fuel filter twice and removed all the fuel. Somehow I had gotten water in the fuel. Ran at full power after servicing.

I put the machine in neutral and held it to the floor, never missed a lick, no hesitation. That was my first check on the spark arrestor, but it does not have one. I did think about changing the fuel filter again but doesnt look like any trash and especially since it runs fine in neutral,

Mine ran fine in nuetral and ran fine on level ground. When I would go up an incline, I'd lose a ton of power. I'd suggest emptying the fuel tank and changing the fuel filter again.

Time for the Tranny thing !!!!

Work your way back ~~~~

That's just my suggestion. If engine is spunking great, .,,,,, a clogged filter can drive one crazy in the transmission >>>> No more than the fuel filter cost, don't hurt to keep a new one on hand at all times !!!!

......... two guns
