ok a new member has metioned some higher bed wall for hauling "crap" and that was a great idea. i'm gonna make a set after i get done with a spare tire holder for another member .what i was wondering is would a 1 foot be high enough? or shou;d i make them 1-1/2 feet tall ? i was thinkin 1 foot bacause it would be easier for storage/shipping/weight/installation/removal. so what do you think?

I don't think you want to go higher than 1 ft. any higher will have a lot of leverage on bed side walls and make the whole vehicle top heavy. My bed spreads a little when hauling wood, which makes it tough to close tailgate at times. Bill B.

MIght wouldn't hurt to have some sort of drop in stabilizer bar of some sort >>>>>>>

well the way i'm figureing it out is they would all connect "all 4 sides or it" and the part over the tailgate would have a pin at the bottom you can pull on both sides that will alow you to lift the rear panel up or if your dumping it will open up and let dirt and manure out but it will stay hinged at the top . there will be 4 side front back and left/right . and the front piece/back will have a diagnal brace in it so that way it will help keep everythin nice and straight.i'll post pictures when i got-r-done

I have a RTV 900 with aftermarket doors and rear window (Curtis). You would need to compensate about an inch so the square pipe wouldn't get in the way of the housing required on the rear of the cab.

Find the pics of my RTV when I had the tracks on it and maybe you can get some ideas from it. I have the tracks off now, but not the rack. I am going to be hauling wood for a bit. Fueloil is 3.77 a gal.

I e-mailed Tommy 4 pics of your rack. I need to find the other 2 but don't think I have them. They're on the forum somewhere. Probably in one of the threads that talks about tracks.

Brian, Thanks for the help. I have been very fortunate all my lifein that if I needed something like that rack, wood spliter or my home I could built it. If I can think of it and have the tools and material I can build it.
