Homemade box blade

Started to make a box blade a few years ago and have gradually modified it to meet my needs. Started out by cutting and welding some 1/4" plate I had lying around the homestead, doubling up the plate on the bottom half of the blade. Used some scrap 2"x 4" tubing for the frame and the 3 ph. Started using this configuration for moving snow a few winters ago.

In the spring I made scafers for the box blade using more 2x4 tubing with 1 hole in it so it is either 1 1/2" in ground or flip the scafer over and it will be out of the way. I also modified and beefed up the frame, painted it up with some JD green & yellow paint I had. Doesn't go to well with the Massey red but beggars cannot be choosers.

This winter I angled the front part of the blade so it would not dig into the ground when I adjusted the 3rd link. May have to breakdown and get some Massey red paint to make it looks nicer against the tractor.

Nice job!!! What do you think it weighs?

Maybe 200lbs, I can lift it up myself. Looking into adding more weight down the road.

Very nice work. It looks Great. You will want a little more weight back there but you can make a little place on top to set concrete blocks

Very nice job. Maybe add some additional holes so you can control the depth of the rippers? I know depending upon what I'm doing I and the soil conditions I will have to change the depth of my rippers.

Wanted to add some extra weight to the box blade, so I bought some scrap plate steel from work, 2' X 1/2" X 5 '. The added steel weighs close to 225lbs.

Laid it out on the back side of the box blade.
