Howdy from Kentucky

I see a lot of familiar names here already. For those who haven't had the misfortune of meeting me already, I work for a general contractor as an estimator. I had a small farm for 35 years. That was sold 2 years ago and I now live on 45 acres in north-central Kentucky.

I love the oldies. My collection includes a 1952 NAA (Golden Jubilee) Ford, a 1956 Ferguson F-40, a 1957 Massey Ferguson 50, a 1971 Massey Ferguson 150 (my favorite! Owned it since new) a 1972 Ford 3000, a 1979 John Deere 2440, and a 2007 Deere 6430.

Married for 40 years, 3 kids, 5 grandkids, and a GREAT-grandchild only days away.

Good to make your aquaintance!

Hi Bill. I'm glad you joined up over here. This is growing into quite a group of tractor experts. Welcome to the club.
Like the others said your experience is welcome here. Feel free to start up any tractor talk you can think of and we'll all pile on. :D
Enjoy and post often. :thumb:

Nice to see another familiar name in the rank and file....

Always enjoyed your posts and threads. (Welcome btw..LOL)

I'm having a dickens of a time logging in at ForumsForums. The site won't take my password and I never got around to doing anything to remedy the situation.

Thank ya'all for throwin' out the welcome mat. Yep, I use most of my equipment in a mowing business we started up this past summer. It's gone over well and if things stay on course, plans are to buy another new tractor this spring. Looking at 75 to 90 hp MFWD, cab, ect. I'm planning on cutting down on the hours my Massey has to spend grinding up weeds. In 36 years I logged less than 3000 hours and in one summer it ran up over 300. The 3000 Ford is headed for retirement. (with a for sale sign on it's grill) All it took was a few hours in an air conditioned cab to ruin me for good.

I'd be happy to fix that for you. Look for a PM here on NTT with the info you need to logon to FF. :D

You would be the first one I would turn to if one of the old Massies break down ;)

Have you finished restoring the 150 yet? It was a very nice looking tractor when you posted pictures of it before.

Also, how do you find the 6430? I haven't had the pleasure of jumping in one of the new 30 series yet. I would of had a chance at silage time but someone else snapped up driving it

The 150 is an ongoing project. I'm not sure it'll ever be "done". It's probably at the 95% stage now though. I'm looking for a new shocl absorber for the seat, it's still running the ORIGINAL 1971 clutch's, I've got an OEM ROPS and canopy that needs paint and installation, and I've got the remote hydraulics removed for now.

I just barely got a chance to drive the 6430 this summer. We bought it for the mowing business and for my sons farm. Between my son and the rest of the employees I had to fight for my turn. (None of them fought me over the payment book though:whistle: ) What time I did get in it, I'm impressed. It's the most comfortable tractor I've ever been in. We're looking at adding a second batwing and another tractor before spring. Probably will be a little less "high dollar" version though.
