With what i paid for this RTV i have to ask are they all keyed the same?

What im asking is can someone else use there key and start my machine?

thanks

I just signed the papers on an RTV 1100 two weeks ago. I asked the dealer if they were all keyed the same, and he confirmed that. Not a problem for me, as it will always be garaged, but, yes, someone else with an 1100 key (or maybe even a 900 key could start mine and drive away. If you can't keep it behind a locked door, you might want to think about some kind of chain lock security system, or something else.

Don't think the 900 & 1100 keys are alike. But, think if youhave a set of keys for the 900, you can pretty well choose the 900 you want to crank up ~~~~~~ same goes for the 1100 series units >>>>

Kubota maybefeels like ALL RTV OWNERS are honest !!!!!!!

Another note on the 1100.... There are 2 keys. One for the ignition and a second, different key for the doors. I don't know if all RTV 1100 doors are keyed alike, but I wouldn't be surprised if they were.

Them being keyed alike don't bother me at all. For if oneattempts to take the RTV ( or anything elseI own), It's going to be the most expensive mistake he will ever make. So he better have his life in order with God, for they arefixin' to meet him !!!! Andyoucan bet, I'm very serious on that subject .... I have no room in my life for a thief !!!!

I just asked the same question to my dealer when I bought my new900 about a month ago and he said yes. And, the same holds true for my Kubota M5700 tractor I bought about four years ago also - different key than the 900 but all M5700 tractors have the same key cut. I keep both in a locked garage. I wonder about other makes of RTVs and tractors... Clay

Two Guns,

Have you taken any steps to anti-thef your RTV? How hard do you think it might be to take the ignition switch/lock to a lock smith to havethe key cut pattern changed?I've heard of installing a hidden battery disconnect but, this seems like a logical first step. Clay

The battery disconnet would first thing & be the best idea if one was worried about someone stealing thier machine. Myself, don't worry about thef of the RTV. It would be easier for a platoon of men to run ragged threw a mine field that to TRY to take the RTV, or other equipment ........ Second, it is already well known,of the consequences.....

The law would not be called !!! Just the cornener !!!! For one who attempts, there will be no problem finding them, they will be laying right beside the equipment !!!! PERIOD !!!!!!

i make sure i show them to all the theves and drug heads around here and i tell them that i am home 24/7/365 i kep about 600 plus round for each gun as you can see the cases of ammo stacked on the side in the closet plus i keep propane bottle for huricanes too. i am well prepared and i won't hesitate to use them.lol every so ofetn i take the kids to the back and let off about 200 rouns in each gun just to let the locals know i still have them.

Gentlemen, I support your choise of anti-theft devices 1000%.

I don't want to turn this post into a political debate but, In this election year I hope that everyone that enjoys these types of anti-theft devices, as both you andI do have joined the NRA. It isthe only organization that standsbetween us and the gun grabbers that want to either take away our Second Admendment rightsentirely or, pervert it into oblivion through their liberal courts. Clay

i second that but i try to buy every gun i can before they bann them and if they do outlaw them i think i will have to report home breakin and ll my guns will be stolen.lol

I am a member of the NRA and agree with you .They need members of all genders and we need the NRA They are sort of like a big brother/sister looking out for us....Bordercollie

You may want to re-think your plan. I don't know which would give you more grief - shootingthebumor, shooting him with a gunthat is registered to you that you hadreported stolen. I agree with you thateveryone of them should be sent to God to be judged but, in this day of liberal judges and the liberals that vote them in- good luck. If we can't have that I'm all in favor of just a simple filet and release program- say a hand or arm? Clay

what i was trying to say is when they do come around to outlaw all guns only outlaws will have guns most crazy people will turn theirs in . me i would just scratch the numbers off and take my chances better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6. 99.9 %of my guns are registered but i do have a few hand guns that ain't and never will be.i don't now if that makes me smart/stupid or a criminal.

I made it extremely CLEAR to the amish and my other neighbors that I own a bunch of weapons and a backhoe!! I have been an NRA member for over 30 years and need only look to england and australia to see the implications of gun bans. I leave the keys in everything I own.if I need to pull keys I need to move farther out and get more dogs. I have four now. Bill B.

they are trying to ban lead bullets right now.lol i think they just might lay off the guns and stop selling the ammo.i do alot of recycling and i sell batteries i think i'm gonna put about 40/50 maybe 60 on the side just for the lead and get me a set of dies to make my own bullets.just yesterday i came across about 20lbs of raw lead they use in them old gutters i think i might go back and get it and store it in a plastic drum. i think they know if they try and take everyones guns way here it's gonna be a cluster #$@# so why not take what comes out the gun no bullets no fighting back.thats why everytime i get some extra cash i pick up a few hundred rounds for one gun at a time.i think i get sick from lead poisining just by walkin in my closet.lol after katrina i don't think anyone down here is gonna stop for a road block exspesaily if they see they are searching cars and the ones that do run the road blocks well it's gonna be a shootout. we seen what they did before they will do it again.i was harassed by so many cops it's not funny.
