I just bought my RTV900 and i must ask?

Thank you for your membership in the NRA. I've my wife and I are both Life Time and Endowment members. You are more than correct about what happened to England and Australia. Thoes people never learn. I guess WWI and WWII didn't teach the dumb aXXes a thing let alone the increase in forced home entries which are now the norm since the bans.

Melting down car batteries is dangerous because of the fumes that is given off from the chemicals the lead has been exposed to. Anyone thinking of going this route might want to do a web search about this topic and investigate further why you don't want to use this type of lead. It's better to stay away from car batteries and just use any other type of lead product. Also, since the price of lead have shot up over the last year England and other european countries where some of their old buildings that used to be roofed in lead have experienced a rash theft from people stealing the lead roofing shingles for recycling profits. i agree with the lead fumes thats why you should always do it when you have a nice breeze blowing twards you neigbors hous who is a anti gunner.lol just jokin if your gonna melt lead just makesure it's outside and like i said try to wait for a nice breeze to be blowing that way it blows all fumes away from you

Fumes from lead melting is one thing but, fumes from melting car battery lead is even more dangerous. I think if I had to melt car battery lead I would want not just a breeze but, a steady full force hurricane wind. Just be extra careful...

we used to make all our battery connections in the ship yard with battery lead and that was 18 years ago we would put arig floor fanbehind us and work just outside the doorway . we never smelled nuthin nor did any of us have lead poisning. just be safe when you mess with lead or acid i prefer to leave the acid alone i empty it into a plastic drum and give it to people who want it . some use small amountsofit in their shops to getoil spills clean.i had talked about it a gun sight a talk on and we looked it up the lead doesn't soak up the acid that muchso if you soak it in some dawn or any other good cleaner then it's safe . the biggest concern is the lead fumes.but your refering to is probably a burning battery with fresh acid. now that is deadly but car battery lead after it has been takin out of the acid is ok . the fumes from the lead are bad but the lead is ok to melt and use you'll get more deady exsposure if you handle the direct acid and get it on your skin than you will if you melt battery lead. i think someone had posted the temp at wich the acid breaks down and is no more and it was way before the lead ever melted.

been doing some reading today and found out that if you take the lead out and soak it in a baking soda /water mixture it nuetralizes the acid and makes null/void. but then i also found out that all deep cycle batteries have pure lead and regular car and truck batteries are made from a cheap mixture. the only down side to the battery kead casted bullets that i found are the lead is very soft and it cust down on the accuracy.

Just a thinking what quality of lead was in duck decoy weights ? Tire weights ?

~~~~~~ Two Guns ~~~~~~
they say tires weights are the best i never checked into the decoy weights. but i guess if all you got is gun powder and caseings and a gun and need some bullets any lead will do in a life saving case. although you are never supose to shoot lead heads out of a glock they say the light lolerances on a stock glock barrel are to close for a lead head "none jacketed "bullet to pass . it will seal itself up and the barrel will go kaboom!. if your gonna run leadheads through a glock it's best you get a after market barrel and swap them out..
I think the concern regarding anti gunners will be what they want to do powder, and primers. Unfortunately, the second amendment does not cover ammunition and reloading supplies. They have already suggested in the past a 10,000% tax on all ammo. Let us hope that the next election turns out in our favor.
Bill
i was just telling the wife that yeasterday about how i think they will leave the guns alone but tax or raise the price of ammo so high that the average joe can't afford it. the problem with that is the military black market will start to flood 5.56 ammo into the streets . no matter what they do someone that deals with ammo will get money hungry and turn some loose.look back at vietnam they probably had more american equipment floating around in the blackmarket over there than they did for the soldiers to use .40% of the supplies probably ended up in the blackmarket instead of going to the guys who needed it.
Another proud NRA member.
The governor of Philadelphia (and Pennsylvania) along with a bunch of anti-gun rights politicians are trying right now to severely limit the Constitutional rights of Pennsylvanians by passing legislation that will make outlaws out of law abiding citizens. Just remember what happened in New Orleans during and after hurricane Katrina. "Lawmen" went in and took guns away from everyone.
A word to the wise.... Hope for the best but Prepare for the worst.
a RTV wannabe, Keifer
yep new orleans was alittle to close to home i live about 40 minutes away(50 miles) the cops around here was lookin pretty mean too it was like a police state .you couldn't go out after dark and there was cops and army personel all over with guns just stareing at you it was a real uneasy situation. i rember standing in a food line and was being watched over by armed soldiers . it didn't feel like america for sure.
Up here in Canada they are in the process of taking our guns away. They are trying to establish a handgun ban in the city of Toronto, Ontario right now. You need a permit to buy 22 rim fire bullets! Assholes are following Australia and England's gun control failures!
stand up for what you believe in if they take them it's because people are letting them do it. i would fight till i can't fight anymore.
