I'm new to this whole forum thing. I have a mid 70's 7100 with a front end loader. The steering box just doesn't hold up and it isn't from abuse. I have replaced the ballnut & shaft already less than a year ago and now it needs to be rebuilt agian. Just wondering if anybody has had same trouble or may Know of an aftermarket or up grade available to fix this.

Hey Woolford, welcome to Net Tractor Talk! I'm glad you found us.
Those B7100's were great little machines. I've seen plenty of them with Front End Loaders. I can't imagine that is a common problem, but I can't offer first hand advise. I just wanted to welcome you and we'll hope someone else with B7100 loader experience will chime in here.
Good luck.

Welcome to the Forum, Woolford! :tiphat:

We're glad you found us.

I had a B2910 with a loader. I never had any trouble with the steering box. I traded it in on a L3400 a few years ago to get something just a little larger.

We'll have some more Kubota folks along during the day. Maybe someone will have some experience with the steering. Any chance something is out of alignment?

Welcome aboard woolford.

I dont have a loader on my 7100 but I have read about the front end problems experienced with 7100's fitted with front loaders.
If there isnt enough of a counter weight hanging off the back of the tractor, there can be a whole host of problems with the steering box, axle hinge pin, and all the linkages and wear points associated with the front axle and steering assembly.

Might be a case of overloading the front end?

Thats all I have I'm afraid, hope you resolve your problem.

Thanks for welcoming me to the site .I have enjoyed reading some of the other posts on the site. I generally have either a york rake or brush hog on the back of the tractor for counterbalance,it is possible thats not enough. I have considered a larger tractor but the 7100 is so darn versital around the yard.
