Kubota RTV 500 starting problem

I have a 500 kubota that sits alot and will start up fine and when i pull it out of shed and shut it off it wont restart.turns over fine but doesnt fire sometimes and sometimes it will act like it going to start momentarilly then just turns over.if I let it set overnight it will ussually start. checked the fuel filter by removing and layiny on a clean cloth and blowing it out and saw no dirt from it. Im afraid to even take it anywhere thinking it might not start.I take very good care of this unit and did all the 50 hour main. at 47 hours. I use this primarially for deer hunting and running around Arkansas countryside it has 61 hours on it. ive owned it for a year and nine months. any help would be appreciated. im currently in Ill. and my machine is in Ark. so I will have to wait to try any repairs you might suggest.thanks in advance.

Hi from Australia,

I have had similar problems with my RTV 500, as recently as yesterday and which has done 74 hours. Likewise mine is electronic fuel injection and thus not a carby problem.

I suggest the following might help, based on advice from my son who got it started for me. When you turn on the ignition and the red lights come on, wait for 10 seconds before turning further to start. If you listen in those 10 seconds, you will hear a very faint whirring noise (like I get on my Kubota 2100 ride on diesel mower) and I think this is the engine priming itself. Then turn to start.

This is what I will do in future and hopefully may fix the problem. Try it and see how you go.

Regards,

Barry
