Kubota RTV 900xt

Has anyone ever used the hydraulic accessories for the Kubota RTV 900xt. Kubota rtv 900xt advertises running a hydraulic chain saw off its RTV.

The price will scare you, I think the chain saw is $1242.00 That would buy a couple of real nice two stroke units.

Yes the prices are ridiculous. However the tools are made by Stanley and many things are available from them directly, sometimes factory remans. The unit itself works well, I run my woodsplitter off it. Don't drag the hose around though, It weighs a ton. .

Thanks for the info. The prices are high for the chain saw. The dealer I have been talking to has not been really helpful with this info as they have not sold any of these units. What size wood splitter and brand do you use? I have also been looking at a 3point hitch at utvhitchworks.com. Do you use any other hydraulic attachments.

wouldn't it be cheaper to get a highspeed hydraulic motor to turn a alternator and just run a inverter off the hydraulics. i used to come across these little charlin motors i know thats not how you spell it but i gave it a try they was about the size of a starter on a car engine but they would turn up like 3k rpm's if you was to make a bracket to mount the motor and alternator onto with a deep cycle battery you could have a protable generator to run all kindsa stuff.

RTV900XT - Portable Generator

The portable generator is another idea that I have in the back of my mind. However, my first thoughts was to keep everything to a minimum based on what I was going to use it for. But now that you mention it, I will research that some more also. Thanks

i used to use a inverter hooked to a deep cycle battery when i had my hpx i used it to run all kindsa power tools . i used to use my sawsall to cut scrap iron with it. it was smaller than a generator and put out just the amount to power i needed . i'm sure a electric chainwas will draw about just as much as a sawasall will.

I'm not sure but I think the RTV that has another set of hydraulic ports has an extra hydraulic reservoir, radiator and cooling fan. The issue is when cycling the fluid you build up heat. I was thinking of running my log splitter off of the system but not sure it can handle the heat???

don't know what comes in the kit but tractor supply has the hydraulic valves for under 300.00 and the hoses you need to plum it up . for 1,800. bucks you could probably go into there and rig up anything you need what all comes with this two function control kit 52?

yeah, tractor supply not my favorite place to shop, I think they are way over priced, you really have to shop for a deal. I have been using Surplus Center www.surpluscenter.com
I have seen times when they carry overstocks of OEM stuff very cheap. Check it out.

don't have one of them stores around here . i like tractor supply because i can go in there and fit the pieces together to see whats gonna work and what won't work. but anyplace you can find deals is better than paying for the price of a part with the kubota or john deere name on it . it seems as soon as they touch it and put their sticker on it the price jumps up out the roof.

Surplus Center is all on-line, sometimes it takes several weeks to get things from them as spring is a busy time. Farmers order from them and there is always a rush in the spring to get machines fixed for the growing season. Take a look at their web site. I have purchase many times for my hydraulic needs and have always been satisfied.

Could never see the point of having one of these hydraulic saws. For half the price you could get a premium two stroke that would operate beyond the reach of the hoses for the hydro saw and would take up less space as well.

Makes no sense to me....

yea thats kinda high dollar there. for that much money it should come with a robot that just the wood and stacks it for you too. not to mention the fuel your gonna burn just to use it.a regular two stroke saw will be a lot less costly to operate fuel wise.

I can't imagine using one of those except in a stationary function. Might think that the hoses may be dangerous in themselves AND like an electric corded chainsaw may have some unanticipated downsides. Hose Might even yank blade toward vital body parts. Only benefit I can see is that it would be be that its free from destructive effects of ethanol.

The woodsplitter is a Wallenstein 3pth unit that I sometimes run off the GC, but I made a mount for it to sit on its own. Then I can run it off the RTV. I have a worksite model with the auxiliary hydraulics, has a separate tank, filters and a cooler. Works like a charm. Doesn't get too hot even in the summer. I also have a hydraulic jackhammer [ breaker]. Its handy in my rocky area. Its not too big to handle.
