L3540 VS NH3040

I'm in the market for a new tractor. These are the 2 I'm looking at L3540 w724 and NH3040 w/250TL.

Am I comparing apples to apples here in respect to the dimensions and capability of these 2 machines baring the extras? I'll be using it for mostly loader work with a little mowing and brushhoging.

Here are the prices I've got so far [mid-atlantic area].

#1- NEW L3540 w/724 QA Bucket and 48" pallet forks @24900.00 - 9000 trade [00 TC25gear w/FEL] = 15900.00
#2- June 09 NH3040 w/250TL QA bucket and 42" Bradco forks @24300 - 8500 trade [00 TC25gear w/FEL] = 15800.00

By the way the NH has a lot of faded items from being out in the sun for 8 months.

I'm ready to pull the trigger on the 3540 but need some advice.

Tough call. I truly don't think you can make a bad decision here. I'm guessing you've sat in each and drove them and like the equally. If you have a dealer preference, that might make the difference. If the dealers are equal in your eyes ... you might as well flip a coin. Both are great machines. Sorry for being of no help at all. :hide:

Had L3710 HST and have L4240 HST

Had a 2000 L3710 HST and now have 2007 L4240 HST. Both with loaders.

Loved the old one and love the new one even more. I looked up my 4240 and found I could sell it now for a little more then I paid for it.

Thinking more on it if it were me I'd go with the Kubota. I've had great luck with orange and it's NEW!!!!!!!

Thanks guy's I am leaning orange as it's the dealer that sold me the TC25 9 years ago and like dealing with them. I also don't like the plastic on the NH it's half the thickness of the TC 25 and no clearance for chains and their a must.

I'm not exactly unbiased here, owning 2 Kubotas and access to a third, but I would go straight for the orange one, it's new. Then again, the extra 5 hp of the NH might be helpful in the loader work. I always think that a 5 hp difference is more important in smaller tractors than in the big 100 hp bruisers. So, in the end, I'd flip a coin and decide based on which dealer I'd want to be talking to down the road. I think that I'd still be leaning towards the Kubota though. Old habits are hard to break. :yum:

Here she is and she's Orange. I got her Friday 3/19/10 and these pic's are of the extra lights I've added. I will get some good Daylight pic's and post them as well.
