leaf blower better then power washer

Guys I just finished 2 days of brush hogging. My 4240 was a mess as was the brush hog. I hate putting dirty equipment in the shed as the critters just love to make all kinds of nest with it. It also is a fire hazard. In the past I would have power washed the tractor and brush hog. Then have to wait to for it all to dry.

Today I needed to clean the leaves out of the parking spot in the equipment shed for the brush hog before putting it away with the leaf blower. That’s when I had an aha moment. I just blew of all the crap from the tractor and the hog with it. It worked fantastic. You can blow under the rubber mats on the tractor and would not believe the dirt that flies out while not leaving water trapped under them to start rust. You can blow out the tool box and not leave it in a wet mess. Pop the hood and clear the radiator. The blower works much better then high pressure water.

Good tip on using ther leaf blower. I also use mine to blow leaves and other debris from my garage gutters.

I too use the leaf blower a lot.

Besides cleaning equipment, I clean the floors in the buildings. Watch out for shelves as it'll clean them nicely (by blowing everything off the shelves).

Good tip Kerry. I had not even considered using a leaf blower for that. I have one that's just been sitting, since we moved and I have not had any leaves to blow. I'll have to see about bringing it back to life.

Just in case I end up in the market for a new blower (the one I'm planning to revive is about 15 years old) what is a good price point and what brands would you guys recommend?

Doc, I have a Stihl BG 85 that has been terrific. Don't think that model is still in production though.

I have a Stihl BR600.

At idle, it blows more than my old Homelite backpack blower.
You can point the blower tube upwards and hover a basketball.

IMHO, a blower is something you don't want to skimp on. A quality blower with high-volume (which is more important than velocity) will prove very valuable. Besides its intended purpose, it can clean gutters in a flash, sweep floors... DO NOT point it towards shelves as it'll wipe them clean of their contents.

If Stihl makes em that is what I should get. I've been so pleased with the Stihl 025 chainsaw that I got 10+ years ago that I know I can't go wrong with their blower.
Thanks guys!!!!!!!

forgot

Hey,
I forgot to tell you all the leaf blower is also fantastic for blowing out air filters. Makes one heck of a dust cloud.

I use a blower for drying vehicles after wash job. Have to pop the matts on my kubota see what's under there. Maybe a million dollars~!@#$%^& Yea right
