Low Speed Vehicle License plates

I am currently trying to get low speed vehicle license plates for my Kubota RTV-X-1100 and I think I might have run into a snag. One of the requirements is to have a AS-1 or AS-4 windshield. My early serial number X1100 has an AS-2 windshield. AS-2 is the only thing that might disqualify my 1100 from being able to get Low Speed Plates. Can any one with a newer x1100 look in the lower passenger side of their windshield to see if you have a different AS rating? My windshield has "Pilkington Toughened M3250 AS2 DOT 394" printed on it.

Thanks

That's a very odd requirement for a plate. Is that a requirement for road use? How do they handle motorcycles and other vehicles that may not have a windshield.

Believe it or not but it is a federal requirement for vehicles that have a top speed of no more than 25mph. The requirement is for vehicles to be driven on streets with a speed limit of 30mph or less. The requirements are in Title 49 and cover Low Speed Vehicles. I think they intended this for electric vehicles. I also sent the question to Kubota customer service.

Gotcha. AFAIK, my State doesn't "allow" these vehicles on public roads unless you're crossing perpendicular to the road. Enforcement is kind of up to the local PD. I live in a rural area so they don't bother us driving down the local roads as long as you're not doing crazy stuff. We do stay off the main roads.

2015 1100. Looks like A2 to me. Had to take pic from inside. Tint made it impossible from outside.
