Maker of fluid for service.

I want to go through the service on the used\new to me 900 i gust got, i have the book and found out there is seven different fluids i need to look into, motor oil-coolant-transmission-ft axle case-knuckle case-hydraulic lift-power steering and even the brake fluid should be changed. I have Farm Bureau CO-OP deliver fuel\oil to my play farm and i have used their fuel and oil in all my equipment even use it in the motorcycles since it specks out better than any other fluids i can find.I use their 75 fluid in my Kubota tractor with a HST trans in the trans and this is the fluid that crosses over to the KUBOTA UDT fluid. The RTV uses the UDT fluid throught and i would like to use what i got and i know the price is much better but i don't want to smoke anything on the RTV, anyone done this?

I use only Kubota transmission fluid. It goes in the cases too also the power steering. The only thing you will need , is a good motor oil- I use JD 15w40 . I have never messed with the brake fluid and I use JD long life coolant mixed with distilled water. On the JD items we have it for the other 4 tractors or I would use Rotella. Bordercollie

I likewise use only Kubota Premium UDT (they don't sell UDT or Super UDT up here in the great white north) in my 3 HST drive Kubotas. The Premium UDT is formulated for extreme cold operating conditions. Kubota is not involved in Petro/Chemicals as far as I know so they must source it from somebody. I'd stick with the bota brand in the hydro tranny.

Anyone familiar with Amsoil synthetic lubricants?

A friend and colleague with considerable Kubota tractor (and much other diesel mechanical experience) swears by Amsoil synthetic oil products. (http://www.amsoil.com/) In his Kubota tractor (he does not have an RTV) with hydrostatic drive he said that switching to Amsoil made a significant difference in cold weather performance. He is the kind of guy who sends his oil away for lab analysis, and appears to know his lubricants the way my wife knows linens. (I.e. a lot, and infinitely more than I do.)

Curious if anyone else knows about this outfit?

I've been very happy with Amsoil products but I haven't seen any that are a substitute for the Super UDT Kubota fluid. I will say that their gear lubes and motor oils have worked very well for me in my vehicles, my International tractor and my 150hp outboard. Where the Kubota needs so little maintenance I'll stick with Kubota stuff.

USE SUPER UDT IN THE TRANSMISSION

If you will do a bit of searching about shifting problems and power I think you will find a whole lot of threads discussing folks being sold on the extra cost of SUDT in the transmissions.............I don't remember the why's exactly, I just know that I am supremely convinced to do that despite the extra cost due to the MANY folks, dealers, and techs that say to do this............Good luck......Dennis

I've used both UDT, SUDT and a Shell equivalent and haven't noticed any difference in shifting. Temperatures are pretty moderate around here, though.

The SUDT is supposed to be a synthetic or semi-synthetic. I also use it in small Case/IH hydro trans tractor. The trans "squawked" constantly and was jerky when engaged. After switching it to SUDT it quieted down is much smoother.

I wasn't going to speak on this one, but :pat:

You can never go wrong using the makers filters and lubes. :126:

And with the Kubota RTV it has been widely proven that this is the only way to go. :14_6_12:

I know the right thing to do is to use the Kubota fluid or the Amsoil. What a day i have had with my RTV, got up early and drove her six miles into town and got the bed Rhino lined, $185.00, then i went to the local Kubota dealer and got the Kubota oil, funny the mechanic there uses Amsoil in his RTV, a fuel gauge,pk bk switch, air fuel and oil filters, even though the previous owners son told me they changed the oil in the engine and hydrostat and lift cylinder i have reason to think they didn't know about all of the places to check and change. I notice there is quite alot of slack in the throttle cable at the pump. I guess i will need to get a shop manual to get a handle on all the cable adjustments, i can see where these adjustments could be touchy.
