BC, This is the first I have heard of this. I haven't caught the news in several days. I will try tomorrow to find out about it. It sounds like theMississippi mega tobacco lawsuit that madesome of the trial lawyers mega multi millionaires .. a real septic tank....very few people average will ever actually benefit. Bordercollie

Won't be too long until we have a left mouse button tax. Thats right.. for every click of the mouse button you too can send more taxes to the government.

thats not to far away they are already trying to put a price on emails and other stuff like paying bills online.

Well BCZoom, it took me long enough but I finally found out that we here in Mississippi do indeed have a $50 trauma tax. It isadded on to the purchase of 4 wheelers and equipment such as our RTVs. I listen to talk radio when I load the feed wagons and heard about it today. It has been around for several months.. More and more taxes...... Bordercollie

Going to have to buy in Louisiana on " TAX FREE"weekend in August~~~~ Love 'dem days, that's the time toload up on the big stuff ~~~~

That sounds good Two Guns, I didn't even get the lower agtax rate over here because the RTV didn't have a PTO. Everything is taxed at the local tax rate plus state tax unless it has the PTO. I called the state tax office and she read me the tax code.Eventhen, I just got a bill of sale {no title so it isn't even registered }!!!Now this was when I bought back in Feb 05 but as greedy as the govt is I'm sure it hasn't changed for the better. I hope I won't need another RTV for a while, but I tell everyone who asks about mineto checkacross the river ...Bordercollie

You don't have farm exempt? Around here, if it (whatever it is) is related to farming and you've qualified for "farm exempt", you don't pay sales tax. That's everything from vehicles to light bulbs.

Last tax free holiday was back in August.... loaded up on guns, hunting related items ...

Helps to know the retailers also, they suppost to have some limits and regulations on them. But, can always write 'em up as other items needed..... The tax-free doesn't include automobiles, land, and homes !!!!! Other than that, knock yourself out. Hope this next free holiday is as nice as the last.....next should come up next in the first quarter of2009 and/ orAugust of 2009 ~~~~~~~~

Either way, it's well worth the wait, save much $$$$$$

Unless the equipment with a motor has a pto you must pay state sales tax. Tractor equipment, seed and fertilizer for the farm is exempt to some degree but every thing else gets it. We do have a colored diesel for off road use that had no road tax. And my RTV is 100% farm use too.. Bordercollie

Thank God the fuel prices are slowing going down,, give 2.41 for farm fuel yesterday ( This was not a bulk price ) just filled up the RTV and a tractor ) , and 1.83 for gas for the pick-up truck ~~~

What is it going for where you are at right now ?

At this moment, our little stop & go stores are having a gas war, seeing who can go the " LOWEST" at this moment ...

Seen several fuel stops change the price three times the other day !!!!!!!

Where exactly are you Rusty? An internet search is showing $1.99 - $2.09 in the Clarion area.

It's running about $2.05 - 2.09 here.

We bought farm diesel 2 months ago and paid $3.65@ 500 g. I don't know what it is now but around 2.35 I would guess. I bought Exxon gas in SE Ark last Sat and paid $1.99. I hear off brand at Kroger is less than $1.61 !!in Jackson Miss that is. Wonder what's next? Bordercollie

gas dropped to 1.39 yesterday, diesel 2.54 off road diesel 2.22- southern tennessee tennessee exempts farm use items from sales tax, good thing because or sales tax rate is 9.75. can't complain too much about the high sales tax, we don't have a state income tax

low gas prices are nice but it's gonna kill the work force down here and in other states that rely on drilling for oil as an income. the goverment can say they are gonna open up drilling offshore of most states all they want but when it's cheaper for the oil companies to buy oil already drilled than it is to drill for it them selves they gonna buy it. look farword to alot of layoffs due to the low gas prices. they did say that the gas prices would drop so cheap but that knowone would even be able to aford to buy it because of unemployment. just think all this cheap gas and soon we won't even be able to buy it and not even be able to take a vacation because of motels closing down.
