New RTV 900 XT owner

Archwoodholding the Kubota mudflap kit is the easiest way to go since it is made to attach directly to pre-drilled holes on your RTV. Oddly enough the kit is economical at $29.00.

I installed the kit (p/n V4236) last Sunday on my RTV. Simple to install.

The proof is in the pictures. front catcher - muddy and then the clean backside. They didn't cost much to make so Kubota still has a very decent profit there but they are indeed worth it. The pre drilled holes also have a threaded nut welded on to the wells so you just screw the bolt in matching up all holes before starting- It you aren't installing them yet it might be a good idea to grease or in some form protect those threads from collecting mud and rust so they will be viable in the future. bordercollie p.s. that's not really mud. ;)

Thanks for the information pepr & Bordercollie! I was looking at aftermarket stuff and none seemed like it would work right ... thought Kubota's would be astronomical but $30 sounds pretty reasonable.

Maybe some bikini clad girls mud wrestling :boobies: with a strategically placed RTV in the background would be permitted??? It's all in how things are presented - or so I'm told! :smartass:

Congrats on the new machine! Now go get it dirty!!
Well I took it to the farm Friday night, it will spend a few months there for hunting season. Here is a pic after the inaugural trip into the woods for a hunt. Not very dirty but this thing is amazing, places that were a struggle for the Bad Boy Buggy are a cakewalk for it. The windshield worked great, no issues towing it down there at 60 MPH and it sure made it more comfortable on these 35 degree mornings..

Thanks for the good wishes, the best thing about the RTV is I get to take my best hunting buddy with me now. This is the main reason I upgraded over my Honda Rancher.

Love it mister.

For him, Keep a gun and one hand, and a fishing pole in the other. The will help
keep all the bad elements of life away, most of it anyway. Minds in the
woods is a very good thing !!!!

PLEASE keep 'em interested in the outdoors, they are OUR future.

Helping children learn the basics of hunting is a blast. Wish I could
back up time and teach my boys & girl again. I miss that.....

..... jamie

I am fortunate that he shares my interest in the outdoors, funny you mention fishing, here are a few more from the farm. Being a 50 yr old father of a 6 yr old, I find that my values are a little different than younger parents.

You are blessed !!!

Attach you a canister, on the ROPS bar on the drivers side. You can pick em up at agri-supply or tractor supply. They are super.
Then, fill it up with glow sticks. Right now, most Holloween stuff is on clearance at Walmart.
I picked up a zillion of them for under 10-15 cents each or so.

We use the in the swamps for finding our way after tracking, or finding another, or the RTV. Our swamps are full of Palemetto, and thick as the hair on a dogs back. Grows higher than a man is tall, can't see crap, much less trying to find way around these swamps at night. Pop a stick and throw. The glow will be thrown in the canopy of the trees, you can go from there ......

Looks like he is ALWAYS happy. Life is good for him. He has somebody that loves him much and there is no doubt, you are one proud man, and you got all reason to be.

This will kinda give a idea .....

another good thing is to put a note inside with a pice of cloth with a certain scent you have on and leave a general location of where you are going .if you get lost or hurt and can't make it back then when they do come across your rtv they will know just about where you are and will have a scent for the dogs to track you.something good is a downy sheet attached to your ankes that way it rubs on the bushes and stuff while you walk. another thing is a bar of soap on a string that you just drag behind you just leave another bar of the same kinda soap in the container.them dogs will run you down faster than anything.

IMPORTANT NOTE/ADDITION:
Dragging your spouse by a rope behind the RTV doesn't count and is generally not recommended.

We use "Bright Eyes" on all the trails into woods stands, also no one ever hunts by themselves. Luckily there are only 6 of us that hunt here so we always know where everyone is. This coupled with 2 way radios makes us the most cautious group of old farts you will ever run across. The glow sticks are a good idea though, I will have to get some of those.

I can't do that anyway, my RTV 900 only has so much towing capacity (I am sure glad my wife doesn't visit this board).:elephantRear:

Anybody know if those mud flaps described in the post would fit an 1140 CPX? I am hearing from aftermarket attachment makers that the 1140 is "a 900 on the front and 1100 in the back" - so I am wondering if the same mud flaps would fit?

Thanks,
Davooda
