Aluminum wheels, and sliding glass. You sure know how to hurt a guy. I was just happy to get the cab !
Looks great. Drive with care, remember no scratches. Thats a show vehicle.

Welcome to the forum!

SWEET! Makes my '04 900 model look woefully antiquated.

Steve;
Read the speaker replacement article. Good information. I was wondering if you tried the orig speakers after cutting the headliner. Mine sounds like you said ... " muffled " due to the sound not getting through the space required. I agree the insulation you put in back would surely help and if the enclosures were cut out and speaker grills placed over the headliner I would imagine there would be a lot of sound improvement. I was just wondering if my ears could tell the difference between this or dropping another hundred in better speakers.

I did not try the stock speakers with the headliner cut out (only because I had the Infinitys already)
It would be worth a try to just remove the headliner and see what kind of improvement that made, if there was a big difference you could probably see improvement with just installing a more acoustically transparent grill.

While my speakers sound much better than the stock speakers there is still the problem of the engine noise when moving that drowns out the low end response of the speakers and no 4 1\2" speaker is going to be able to overcome this, the only option would be cutting the metal and installing a bigger speaker or a subwoofer (which I am thinking about) :)

Although I don't know alot about speakers I would like a quality improvement in this area. I think Kubota could have done better for what they charge. It doesn't look like to large of a task to drop the headliner so I will try to get some assistance on what would work best ( maybe some smaller versions in the back ) for the limited cab space. No doubt your article was very helpful.

isn't there some kinda storage space under the seat?if so why not install an amp?two 10"subs and a set os mids would rock that cab. you could also put in two dome piezo tweeters for the highs they are surface mount so no holes are needed.i miss my little chevy aveo i had a pair of 6x9's with a 150 watt amp running them and a 15"sub with a 500 watt lanzar amp running to it. it would be really nice to have a utv with a great system in it.then i could go for an afternoon ride with a/c and sound.a god little 200 watt 3 way amp would work in the rtv .

I would definately like to see any and all pics you have on your speakers and installation. I dropped my headliner out yesterday and I am totally disgusted with Kubotas idea of a stereo system for $427. I am in the process of making a plan for upgrading to my own decent system. I will probably scrap the entire original setup. I am planning on taking pics as I go so maybe others can benefit from my updates.

I can definately benefit from someones experience in " speaker technology " because I don't have the first clue. Most retail outlets want to sell on the name and highest price. Is there some type of formula for the small space involved that will bring out a great sound ? I am searching on the net but if someone designs something specifically for the 1100 cab that would be great. I will " stay tuned ".

you can get the decks really cheap the thing that will cost the most is the speakers .measure the how deep the speaker hole is and go from there .i don't know how much head room there is in a rtv but you could look into small boxs mounted to the top rear of the cab. the amps come in different sizes.when buying an amp do't look at the peak wattage look at the rms wattage that is what the amp really pushes .try to find an amp with atleast 80 watts rms and get the speakers to match that.they sell surface mount speakers that really don't take up any room at all .if you want to go with bigger speakers them make a spacer to take up some of the debth out of them.you never want the magnets to touch the metal bedhind them.there is also free air sub woofers that really don't need airspace or a sealed enclosure.when you buy subs it will tell you how much air space is needed for the sub to perform right.and also if they need to be ported boxs too. a reall good speaker for small areas is the bazzooka tubes they come in sizes from 6"to 10" some even have thier own biult in amps to make them more compact.try going to crutchfield.com and look around in there they also have specs on all thier amps/decks and speakers.don't worriy about the decks that say they puch wattage because they really don't push as much as they say they do.and also remember never just hook up a bunch of speakers to one amp because of the ohms always look at what the amp or deck can handle if you read on the box or even the amp houseing it will tell you that it will puch100 watts rms at 4 ohms and 150 at 2ohms.to get it to drop to 2ohms you will have to hook the speakers in a series and not paralell.i have a diagram somewhene about how to hook them up i'll find it and post it for you.but if i can't find it i think crutchfield has one on their website.

Hey Steve,
What was the cost of your beaut?
Any options you regret so far, getting ready to pull the trigger and can't decide between 900xts vs 100? Decisions!!!!?

The base price between the 900 and 1100 with just a tire option is $6400.00 Depending on usage and need....... that should be the tie breaker. A new 1100 with options and tax requires a substancial chunk of change. I was very lucky to find a great used machine in a price range that fit my budget.

I paid $17,100

If you don't need or want the cab go with the 900, if you plan on adding a hard cab go ahead and get the 1100, by the time you add a hard cab, heater, etc, you will have as much in the 900 and won't have the AC or the great fit of the factory cab.

If I wasn't planning to use the 1100 for snow plowing in the winter I would have probably went with the 1140, but that AC sure is nice so far. :D
