New RTV900XT

I'm taking delivery of a new 2012 RTV900XT Worksite tomorrow. I've added the roof & windshield, and have ordered a rearview mirror via Ebay.

Are their any must have accessories I've not thought of?? My main use for the RTV is wood hauling, recreational cruising my 80 acres, etc.

It was a tough decision to replace my beloved 1997 Mule 2510, which had been bullet proof reliable since new.:wall:

Welcome aboard Bud...............Look forward to carrying hundreds of cords of wood out of the woods to your storage area......I am sure you will hear plenty of recomendations for gear from lots of folks; but for me, a high intake/air cleaner are must haves right off the top. Rear window of plastic and metal grill there are really nice. Lights front and back with a power supply/wiring for accessories at the rear are kinda nice also. (sprayers, spreaders, etc)..................

Ya did right.........have fun with all that work.......Where's your place......God bless......Dennis

Dennis,

Thanks for the friendly welcome, much appreciated. I live about 9 miles South of Evart, Michigan. Yes, that high intake air cleaner was tempting, but the dealer didn't have one in stock, so decided to wait for a while. Still not sure that I shouldn't have gotten the Camo model, but the decision has been made.

I am retired, so have lot's of time to install additional goodies at a later time. Thanks for the tips.

1+ on the high intake. Bumpers are also a must for me. When mine was new i had to search everywhere for mod pics. Maybe we can ad a sticky for just mod pics to help out newbies.

Treeman, Treeman, Treeman, one word of advice on this forum. It you ask for suggestions on accessories for your RTV, everyone on this site will spend your money to the point of putting you in to the poor house. (that includes me, I really like the go light). Congrats and welcome, great site here and wonderful people, enjoy!

Welcome Treeman. Glad you found us. You are going to love you xt. One thing, what kind of tires are you getting? When I went to look at"my" xt worksite model before I bought it, it had the WS tires and the dealer changed them out for me to the ATV tires, I had the WS before on my '05 and had to take them off because I was getting stuck all the time. The tread on them is awesome but they don't clean or sling out mud well.
I had a 2001 mule 3210 before I got my first RTV and they are different animals. The diesel is louder but it is a totally different drive- the power steering is the first thing I noticed and it just goes up from there. Congrats on your new work mate. bordercollie

Howdy.

You have just stepped into the family on planet earth.
We always suggest the removal of the spark arrestor. Get a high rise when you can.
And don't forget to get a pair of boot savers from 'ole Peanut. Will save you trouble & $$$.

What top do you have ?
Windsheild is a must in cold weather. For the hood funnels the cold air. ( Much different from any other utility or four wheeler vehicle.)
Another thing about the way the machine is made. Where the filter is located from the factory. The machine forms a vortex that will just pour dirt and stuff into your air filters, which will finally get into engine. PLEASE, please get you a high rise or build yourself one. YOu, YOur machine & pocketbook will apprecialte it in time.

May I suggest the Peterson lights from Agri Supply ( or where ever you may find them) only about 14 $ a piece. Rubber housing. Part # 16369 >>
Two in the front, Two in the back working area !!!!

There is a sticky list where we as members has posted to what and where we got some of this stuff. Here is a link, and take a look. Feel free to ask.

..... and yes treeman,
Go to Wal Mart and pick you up some auto door trim. Install on hood.
Will help keep hood from making contact and rubbing other parts.

Welcome to the forum and congrats on your new RTV!

OK, I'll spend a bit of your money. :) Consider getting a light for the passenger compartment.

With all the electrical stuff we've added, you may also want a deep-cycle marine battery.
