If you have not already done so, hang "Old Glory" on the front porch, Salute It!! and say a brief prayer for those folks that make our lifestyles possible. It's not a perfect country, But It's the best there is going! Captain

bczoom you a marine?? man i got something for you!!!! i live up the street froma dump and i go there every after noon to pickup scrap aluminum and copper . well anyways someones grandpa must have pastway and the sorry fool threw out his belongings well me and another guy was going through the stuff and i ended up with the very old k-bar infact it's so old that the leather rings are falling off. i always wanted one and this was the only way i could aford one but hey you deserve to have it more than me i don't have the sheath for it and most of the bands are gone but man the blade is like new and it's razor sharp . the u.s.m.c is still stamped right on the blade. it belongs in the hands of a true marine i was never in the military . one day when i get the extra money i'll buy me one but i think this one needs to be in it's rightfull place so if you want it let me know.i'm gonna go take some pictures of it and post them .

here it is as you can see she's old very old but the blade is in very good condition. it's a collectors item for sure .i would say it's from wwII.i can mail it off as soon as the finance company riemburses me for all my repairs on my house . witch should be in a week or so . i'm gonna ship it to you and the bed rails to messinicks . don't ever finance anything through green tree . they will hold your insurance check i had to make all my repairs myself all but the roof and the roofers are callin me on a daily basis wanting to be paid..

I was also Air Force during Vietnam and carried that same knife as part if my survival gear. I still have it with sheath and sharpening stone.

i can't imagine why someone wuld throw something like this away. this knife has some history with it i wish i knewthe storyies behind it but i don't other than it was in a box in a dumpster with some other old military stuff.

U.S. Army. Nine years and 7 months.June 1965 into 1976. Disabled and Discharged from Viet Nam injuries. Cold War in Europe, Near East, Far East. Hot wars in Viet Nam, Israel, and 68 stuff in USA. Proudly supporting OUR men and women that serve today.

God Bless OUR Country...........Dennis

Hey Tommy,

That knife looks like it's been around the block a few times.

You shouldn't feel obligated to give it to someone in the USMC. They're great knives. If you can find replacement handle components, it would make a fine knife for you to keep at your side.

Brian

i can make a new handle for it . i just figured with it being so old that it would be ashamed to redo it.i'll see about doing a oak handle then it sure can't mess the handle up any worst than it is already.lol

any of you vietnam era veterans ever have any experience with a m274-a2 mule. i just recently bought one to go with the rtv and ranger.anyway it just looked cool. i am hoping to have it restored in the next few months
