i'm makin them new ones but when i was doing so i came up to this idea about drainage.being the new design will be boltes in the fron by two bolts and in the rear by two bolts would you guys say it's safe to do away with the middle triangle piece andleave the hole there for extra drainage? i know after i gomuddin with my rhino the first thing i do is flush out the a-arms because the mud will driy and tear the boots"been there done that" that hard mud will shread a cv boot faster than a stick will puncture it thats why i am thinkin of more drainage for the mud to be washed out

I'm not sure what design you're talking about.

Are you saying you have a combination front/back boot saver that mounts as a single piece to the lower A-arm? And in that design, it looks like a tent over the A-Arm? And you're asking of the front and back of that tent should be removed?

If that's the design, it's a tough call on which would be better (open tent or closed).

If it's open, that's just inviting mud to get caked in there. I guess it depends on the cleaning method. Can you get a hose or pressure washer in there to blow out the accumulation.

If the tent is sealed, I wouldn't expect much to get in there in terms of mud but it would allow water in. Again, how is it for cleaning off the surface mud to allow any trapped water to escape?

the old bootsavers just mainly protected the front and they had a 4"piece to protect the back . i couldn't go all the way across the back with the old design because twoguns said there was something there to stop it thats when i recently found out the steering stopper was in the way of it being able to go all the way across.now with the new design i am able to go all the way across the rear of the a-arm to protect theboots incase your backing up now the old design was held on by two screws in the front and i think 12 screws in the middle with the triangle plate. but now sinse i'm going across the back it will be bolted to the from and rear a-arm with 4 blts and i was thinging of doing away with the middle plate and bolts and instaed of cutting the hole in the middle i was gonna drill some 1/2"holes to alow the water and mud to get out . i was wondering if the 4 bolts would be fine to me i think they would because thats all that holds my rhino's boots on and they never come off.if you need pictures of the old bootsavers i can post them.

Post them pictures Tommy ~~~

I love mine just the way they are... NO MORE, NO LESS >>>

Iwould not like any holes in the middle, for there is to much room for small sticks and items to go threw

Also Tommy, got to realize that them folks up there don't have gumbo like we do. Things do washoff & out so much better up there >>>>>>>

.......... two guns

If you do away with the big hole and cover plate where will we put the METRIC bolts you throw in to mess us up?? I would keep it just the way it is and add the extra in the back.

them metric bolts was supose to go in the front to hold it up but you found out that a regular bolt will fit in there so i guess i can drop the metric stuff to.
