Been doing much raining down here in Louisiana >>>>>> at the end of this week, was planning on swapping out the tires back to the OEM stock atv's, till at leastOctober, but looks like I'm going to wait about a month or so. For going to need them ITP's on a little longer than thought >>>> Them swamps are really at their worst right now !!!!

Pretty much the same temps here. It's now up to 3 degrees. Earlier in the week, we were getting wind chills in the -30 range.
Kind of funny... The first time it hit zero this winter, they put the schools on a 2-hour delay. Now, it's just another day. It's been around zero every morning this week and the kids don't even notice. I also see our area is under NWS advisories for tonight.
Yesterday I was outside working in jeans, sweatshirt and sneakers. It was a balmy 20 degrees.

Jamie - I'd rather have our snow and cold than your rain...

My friend, I can tell you, we've had some rain >>> at this moment, the sky is still dumping it down .... Need to get my butt in gear and head out to the swamps and knock out some beaver damns.... Found a few more here while back, and I know now, with all this water coming in on us. They are having their self a time.... Them beavers are smart, don't ever think they are not, you can blow a damn out, go home, return the next morning, and you haven't done nothing, they will work all night repairing. Looks like I going to have to hit the beaver dens, eliminated four, but, have many more to go to try to catch up >>>>>> The only way to stop it is to take them out. Which is done, when we have a chance, but looking like we are going to have to make time. They can really cause some problems down here.

It's 60 degrees here @ 9:00am>>> 2/21/2008

Our forcast don't show sunshine for another five days or so >>>>

I fought the beaver problem for 3 years and they were always winning. In the end gun powder worked the best. They make for some good target practice. A 45 grain22 Hornet does a nice job. If you harass them enough they will just pack up and leave. Mine all left for a year and then came back so the Hornet barked a few more time and they left again, never have return. That was over 5 years ago.

I am sure proud of the XTR's today with all this rain falling.. I would need a floatie otherwise[:D].I got out this morning and just plowed right thru the ditches and pouring water.(flash flood).I could have had fun if I had the time.Spring is coming!!!!!I don't see how our Northern friends make it in all that cold. I guess I take the rain cause at least I can feel my fingers[even if I can't see them for all the mud]!!.Bordercollie[&][&]

Just dress appropriately.

Heck, I've got cold weather clothes that are so warm I can't even wear them as it hasn't been cold enough. You would melt if wearing them in temps above zero.
Here's a link to one of my parkas.

Here's a pic of some of my mitts. These fit over a pair of winter gloves. Beaver pelt on the back, moose hide on the palms and Thinsulate on the inside. These were made by an Inuit family up in Alaska.
BTW - That ruler is 16".

OK, I mis-read TWO GUNS post. I thought he said he had a pair of these mitts. I sent an e-mail asking if he wanted to sell.

There's only about 50 pair of these mitts in the lower 48 states. IF you have a really good connection, and, it's a BIG IF you can get a pair of these mitts for about $300 - 500.

If anyone is still interested, I can try to get them but my source has moved from the Arctic Circle (where they were made) down to Florida.

Unless you get sub-zero temps regularly, they're overkill. I don't use them unless it's below zero. I can recommend other hand protection for plus-zero temps.

"gurgle" "gurgle" just about there right now .

OK, it would have to be a collectors item, not for actual use. There's no way you could use these mitts in LA.
Imagine, if you will laying in the coldest deep freezer you have for a few hours. What is that, 10 or 20 below zero? That's about the starting temp for these mitts (as well as the parka, bibs, boots... that I have).
If you have the $$$ I can see if I can get another pair but as noted, there's only about 1 pair per 5,000,000 people in the lower 48.
