RTV 900 seems to be dragging

Years ago, as a boy. I must have thought I was Tarzan !!!!

We were at my uncles farm. And he had some very mean geese. They, ( father and uncle ) told me, "so you think you can catch and round up
them geese"......
Well, felt that I always got the upper hand on farm animals back on our place, worked 'em, feed them, cleaned stalls ... etc ... etc >>>> This was going to be a chance to show 'em a thing or two ..... WAS I WRONG !!!
They told me to just walk up there and grab them by the neck, one in each
hand and bring them back this way.
So there I went, walking toward them birds like Matt Dillion did on Gunsmoke, only to get jump on, beat to death, bit all over, and mauled by a herd of geese. They can bite you in the softest places on your body. Dammit, they hurt. My father and uncle could not quit laughing.
Nope, I did not catch one. But I can swear to this, even this day, if somebody talks about geese. I start having flash backs of that horrible day.
Today, I will hunt them. Believe it or not, I like geese. They are beautiful, but very mean !!!!!

I know they are good bug eaters and will eat weed /seed. Also the Muscovy ducks .When a little kid, in rural Ark, I would walk across the railroad track and go see this real old lady that had them. We would walk around barefoot and sweep her dirt in the yard with a straw broom. They wouldn't bother the us or eat her flowers .. ( In her little place, she had a little pot bellied stove and newspapers all over the wall to keep the place warm in winter.... Also a little black Chihuahua that was half blind. Ahh the good old innocent days.. Now that was a fun memory.. bordercollie

Do you have them enclosed in a pen or do the run loose? What about predators? How much maintenance do they take? Like if you are going to be away for a 3 day weekend, would that matter?

edit to add:
Nice looking geese!!! knot heads :yum: at first I thought it was knot heard ...but I knew better than that. :yum:

LOL It was a typo the first time yes I canged it so your not halucinating.
Very hardy birds only thing that bothers them are coyotes but i keep the yotes down here usually lead poisioning. In the summer time they free range.I lock them up in the coupe in the winter cause they are to stupid to get out of the snow.I got tired of having to unfreexe their feet from the ground when they sit all night.I feed them cracked corn in the winter and they only eat what they need so they dont make pigs of them selves so i add food about every 3 days.In the summer ill put out 10 pounds of food and that will last a week. They eat the grass grasshoppers bugs and anything they find tasty.Terri cant keep the plants called hens and chicks here or hastas they love them. They will put the whoop ass on coons and small dogs.So the Ypotes are all that will bother them.

Well, now that we've totally highjacked the thread, my dog says your geese look tasty!

I've got to say, they are some nice lookin' birds.

Do they follow you around ? They stay put on your property?

I know a man down the road who has some geese, and he & his wife
came in one day in her car. They happen to be eating some Cracker Jacks when they got out. Well, he threw the geese some and they loved it. Now, when that car leaves and shows back up at home.
No matter where them birds are, they come a running for that car.

She can't hardly walk for the geese. Bet they really wanting the "Prize" >>>>>

Geese: also known as "hoe hands" on the farm, for the reasons BC cited, above. One bird that makes an even better watchbird than geese: guinea hens. We Liberals know about things like that.

Hey westbrooklawn,

We're just chatting about varmints until you get back with us on your findings. Anything new?
