RTV900 Leaf Spring

I'm trying to install tracks for my RTV. A plate fits over where the front leaf spring hinges on the bolt in the frame. I removed the bolt there to install the plate and the eye in the leaf spring is about 1 inches back now from the hole in the frame. I can't put the bolt back in through the hole, as the eye won't line up with it. I've tried to use a pry bar, I can get the leaf spring up...but not forward.

Suggestions?

Welcome to the forum!

If I understand your issue correctly, it sounds like the spring needs compressed to make it straighter so it will line up.

I'm not close to my RTV right now so just drawing a mental image but what would happen if you added weight to the bed to compress the spring?

Normally you would attach the front loop of the spring to the front mount first.

Then attach the rear as it has shackles that can be moved forward to help make the connection.

Give that a try.

Thanks.

What I did was use a come along and attached it at the rear shakle. Then used a pry bar to hold down the spring at the front using the frame.
